They may look like just be a pair of legs... but this robot has a name.
ACHIRES... or the Actively Coordinated High-speed Image-processing Experiment System... is one
of the fastest bipedal robots in the world. Created by roboticists at the University of
Tokyo′s Ishikawa Watanabe Laboratory... its 14-centimeter-long-gams can dash up to
4-point-3 kilometers per hour... or about 6 steps per second... and can even perform
a somersault. ACHIRES also features a high speed camera
and a stabilizing motor that allow it to lean forward without tipping over.
