This has been tested on FSD2.2 Rev 1072. Make sure you have this version installed.
The Game database will be recreated 1:1. Game titles, descriptions, images...
Migration includes all content. Xbox 360/LIVE/Classic, Homebrew etc.
To migrate I strongly recommend using a *** F3 install. During migration all F3 data will be deleted anyway.
Get the installer in LIVE/ISO/XEX format and start the F3 install process.
The name doesn't matter. Use whatever you like.
If you're connecting your Xbox HDD to your PC you don't need to do the next step.
Otherwise you need to activate Samba. I do NOT recommend migrating through LAN because it is VERY slow!
Go to settings and activate Samba. Once again, only use it if you can't connect your Xbox 360 HDD to your PC.
If you have a large collection and you can't hook up your Xbox 360 HDD to your PC, copy your F3 root path to your local (PC) HDD.
After migrating copy it's content back to your Xbox 360 F3 path. This is much faster than migrating over network.
Install GaDaBaMa 2.2
In this tutorial there was already an older version of GaDaBaMa. If you're using GaDaBaMa for the first time don't worry.
There is no need to have a local database to migrate from FSD2 to F3.
However, if you would like to use fullcovers for coverflow, you must download them first. Except when you have already done it.
If you have a local database (like in this tutorial) you can download all covers from JQE360.com as shown.
If it is the first time you use GaDaBaMa you must do Step1 and Step2 first. Check other tutorials that covers those steps.
To download all covers for all games from JQE360.com click on...
F3 Coverflow needs covers. If a game does not have a cover it uses it's boxart. Download them too if you need them.
Under database tools you'll find the new function: Migrate FSD2 to F3.
Some features are optional. Select them if you like. If you have previously downloaded covers activate it's conversion to dds.
The default setting is for all those using F3 coverflow. If you have all covers you don't need boxarts.
Max screenshots are 20 (F3 limitation).
Select FSD2 and F3 root path. I strongly recommend NOT using network paths!
Once everything is configured press on START.
The log window informs about all steps. This tutorial shows just the process and not it's real duration.
Although I did it over Samba the first time, I do not recommend it at all. It can take over an hour to finish (245 games)!
Done! Now restart F3 and enjoy your full collection with all it's descriptions and images.
Akai Katana and other games' covers are missing. We'll get to that afterwards.
Backgrounds, images, descriptions it is all there! Flawless migration.
The same applies also to the other tabs.
That's the way how F3 handles one game in tab. Deal with it...
Back to Akai Katana. As your FSD2/GaDaBaMa GameId is the same as your GameId in F3...
... you can use this new function until GaDaBaMa is fully compatible with F3. Get the cover first.
Now go to manual edit and select: Create F3 .assets file for current game.
This will create an assets file with all green fields/with all available content. It's not perfect but it may be useful for now.
Select the output folder. Take a look at my example, this is how F3 saves assets files. GameData folder = name.assets
Of course, it takes longer to create those files. And even much longer over network! Tip: save it locally and ftp/copy it to your Xbox 360 HDD.
Reboot F3
There it is. Full cover!
All the other images are available as well.
Thanks for your support. GaDaBaMa 3.0 for F3 coming next. Check www.gadabama.com for updates.
