You’ve just been involved in a car accident and you’re seriously hurt, but you don’t
have any medical insurance. What do you do? Hi. My name is Jonathan Macri and I’m an
attorney here at Parker Waichman. Now the scenario that I’ve just described to you
happens far too often. One of my clients is involved in a car accident and they’re very
seriously injured. They come to me and they think that they can’t get the medical treatment
that may have been told that they need at the hospital because they don’t have medical
insurance. Well, I’m here to tell you right now that is not the case. You see, New York
state has set up a system specifically for this scenario. And it’s a system whereby,
if you’re involved in a car accident, you’re entitled to up to $50,000 dollars worth of
medical coverage, regardless of who was at fault in the accident - through a system,
appropriately called, “no-fault.” Now the only requirement through no-fault is that
you have to file an application for it within 30 days of your accident unless there is some
kind of special scenario involved. Now, you’re watching this video likely because you’ve
been involved in a car accident recently and it might be under that 30 days, it might even
be a little bit over that 30 days, and you probably have a lot of questions about what
to do next. Which is fine, because you can give me a call and I can answer those questions.
You can reach me here at the firm at 1-800-800-9797. I help clients with their no-fault applications
every day and I’d be more than happy to help you with yours. Once again, my name is
Jonathan Macri and I really want to thank you for taking the time to watch today.
