Dillon Miles: And what do the holidays mean to you Alex?
Alex: I think the holidays are a great opportunity for people to
really bring out the best in each otherwith the spirit of giving and of
looking out for those less fortunate than each other.
Student: You know, being a student, sometimes you like NEVER get to eat
real food, you know, just sit down with the people that you love and enjoy
them. So, when the holidays come around, it's really enjoyable.
Dillon: So you get no real food, so what's your favorite flavor of
Ramen noodles?
Student: (chuckles) Oh, I get down with the beef.
Student2: It's a great time to just slow down and realize what you have
and all the blessings that are in your life.
Student3: Seeing my grandmother in the airport at Thanksgiving.
That was my greatest holiday memory.
Dillon: And, what do the holidays mean to you sir?
(silence) Not a big holiday guy... moving on.
Student4: My family is all over the country so it's really the one time
of year we're all together and just get to have a great time.
Student5: Peace, love and happiness.
Student6: Remembering the reason for the season!
Student7: For me, an out-of-state student, it means I get to go home and
see my family.
Dr. Currens: Holidays mean fun, good food and I need some of that...
Student8: Being with family, remembering our Country.
Dillon: Do you think this is an adequate sized holiday tree for the holidays?
M.Mardis: Uh, I think it's important we have a diversity of trees on campus.
Pres. Ramsey: I think for all of us the holidays are a time to give back
and to share. And I think that's what the holiday spirit is all about.
To all of you who made a gift to the Fund for U of L this fall, thank you
so very much. And for those of you who haven't yet given, it's not too late.
Please make your annual gift by December 31st. Your generosity
makes such a difference to our students.
Dillon: There you have it. So from the entire U of L family...
... to your family. (both) Happy Holidays!
