We’ve covered a few hipstamatic-style video apps in the past few months, but I can’t
let that stop me telling you about the best so far. Previous apps have had very limited
effects, and haven’t always been super-stable, so Silent Movie Director is a breath of fresh
air. Available for 59p it’s worth paying the additional in-app 59p upgrade for the
Pro version. As well as the six video effects and three audio tracks you get in the standard
version, you get the option of adding slides, transitions and cutting about and adding to
the video itself. With effects ranging from 70s home video to 20s silent movie, as well
as the option to speed up or slow down the footage, there’s lots you can play around
with. And if that’s not enough, they’re nice enough to tell you some amazing facts
whilst the video is rendering - whilst I didknow that AmTrak was a combination of American
and Track,
I was unaware that the Romans thought lemons were the antidote to all poisons.
