Known for its varied medicinal applications, Daphne Genkwa can act as a purgative, diuretic,
anticoagulant, antiviral, stomachic and antiseptic. More commonly known by the name Lilac Daphne,
the herb is used by Chinese medicine doctors to provide relief to frost bite, edema, bronchitis
and other skin-related disorders.
Daphne Genkwa as an antifungal treatment is relegated to remedy head sores, intractable
tinea and tinea capitis. Apart from being used as an internal medicine, Lilac Daphne
also has effective external medicinal qualities. It is prescribed by Chinese medicine doctors
to treat skin diseases caused by fungal infections or parasites.
The flower of Daphne Genkwa, on the other hand, is known for its strong tranquilizing
effect. To fight off bacterial infections, Daphne Genkwa is advised to be combined with
alcohol, water or vinegar.
