To create a myGov account should take around ONE minute of your time!
First go to my.gov.au
If you already have an Australia.gov.au account, log in using your current User ID and password,
accept terms of use and get started. If you’re new, click on the “Create a myGov account”
button.
Accept the terms of use, enter an email address and create a password.
You need an email address that is not shared with another person so that we can send you
secure information such as how to recover your username if you forget it.
For your further security, now choose three secret questions and answers.
That’s it! Your myGov account will be created and you’ll be given a username.
The username will be emailed to you but just in case, write it down and keep it safe.
Now all you have to do is set your Inbox notification preference. You can choose to be sent an email
or SMS, when your Inbox receives new messages.
Get the most out of your myGov account, start linking services you want to use.
You can add more services as you go or as new ones become available.
