Embroidery is the process of putting stiches into any kind of garment in order to show
off your logo. My name is Stephen Toris, I'm the operations manager for East Ind Ink and
I oversee our embroidery department. We spend a lot of time doing... getting designs, taking
them turning them from digital images--whether it be on a business card or a file that's
created by the customer--and we have them, have files created where the stitches are
basically put in each appropriate place. Come down here and we sew it out on our tool head
embroidery machine. With screen printing, the main thing that you think about is a lot
with how many colors does that process involve. With this one, with embroidery, the colors
don't really matter. As you can see we have a number of colors set up on each head. It's
pretty easy to change out thread colors, but all that matters is how big the design is,
how many stitches is it going to take. We run about, usually, between 700 and 770 stitches
per minute, and we normally knock out between 150 to 250 pieces a day.
