I went to school not knowing what I wanted to do,
but I always knew I wanted to be with kids and I wanted
to put smiles on people's faces.
Camp Kessem is a camp for kids, ages 6-13,
whose parents have or have had cancer.
My little brother is a three-time cancer survivor
and my mom just went through her own battle with cancer,
so that kind of pushed me toward this really cool opportunity.
We set a high goal of ourselves
for having 40 campers at our camp.
And we have to raise every single dollar for this camp,
because of the financial burden cancer places on families.
So we raised over $20,000.
I think every single person in college should get involved
in volunteering and I believe that one hundred percent.
It was probably the best thing I've done.
College is the one opportunity you have to go into any sort
of volunteering you want.
Especially at the U, we have hundreds
and hundreds of choices.
There is definitely a right fit for anyone
and everyone will find something that they're passionate about.
