0:00 Hi, this video is going to be preparing you for creating your senior presentation
boards during your senior project presentation. 0:12 You are going to be getting very familiar
with this presentation board rubric. 0:18 As you can see, we have photos and visuals
here, 0:21 We have content, we have subtitles,
0:26 Organizational details and design. 0:28 I will be talking a little about that
as we move through the presentation. 0:34 So here is an example - I really like
her title, 0:37 It is very catchy, easy to read, she
has great steps for her glass fusing. 0:44 She also has artifacts, you can't see
them very well here but these are little beads, 0:49 Glass beads she has put on the board.
0:54 The next one I want to show you, 0:57 I really like the background on this
board, 1:01 It is a small medallion of the fire department,
1:05 It is catchy but it is not overbearing, it is not the first thing you see,
1:09 It is just a nice detail in the back. 1:12 His titles are all the same, they are
easy to read, 1:19 He has all of his subtitles represented
here. 1:24 A couple of nice pictures with good detail
of his project. 1:30 I like the background on this, she used
different pieces of paper, it was wallpaper. 1:37 This project was through Cost Plus-World
Market headquarters. 1:47 The only thing about this board I would
have done differently, 1:51 Was to make bigger pictures, maybe spread
them out, 1:54 Not had them all clustered up in one
area. 1:59 On this board, he actually used a type
of wallpaper and it really did look like metal, it's real catchy.
2:07 It does not detract from what he is doing on the board.
2:11 He has nice pictures, really nice steps, through his project of building a bumper for
his truck. 2:18 He has a nice 8 X 10 of him with his
truck and the bumper. 2:27 I also like this board, she actually
cut out some of the flowers, 2:32 For her flower arranging she did flower
arranging for her sister's wedding reception. 2:39 I like the way she laid out her titles,
2:41 They are all the same, but they are catchy, she has them laid sideways and it has a nice
font, 2:47 It is all very uniform and very professional
looking. 2:55 This is a board from a couple of years
ago, 2:58 I really liked the fact she used this
font, the style of it matches what her project was all about and
3:07 She has nice titling, and good pictures. 3:12 This is a little closer view,
3:15 She has a panoramic picture of the ranch and in this next picture you can see the detail,
3:24 How she decided the edge here, she used an ink wash and she put a lot of time and
effort, 3:32 The style was really appealing for her
project. 3:38 Now this is a slide that you can see
right away he has some issues. 3:46 This is not cut out very carefully
3:52 And it is a little off kilter, there is also a smudge here,
3:56 You have some issue here, 4:00 See this is not uniform. When you are
cutting it out, 4:03 Placing it on the board you have to be
really careful and make it as neat and tidy as possible.
4:11 This board could have used better placement of pictures,
4:17 I think there is a lot of empty space here that she should have redesigned.
4:22 That is the first thing you see when you look at the board.
4:26 This one, I think she had a good idea, 4:30 But she does not have enough information
on the board 4:34 I think her title is too large,
4:37 This looks like an after thought. 4:39 This could have been much smaller, then
she could have taken her subtitles, 4:44 Made them a little bigger, and they would
be easier to see. 4:47 She just does not have enough information
on her board 4:51 To get full credit.
4:54 This was a very nice presentation, he had all the materials that he needed,
5:00 The issue I had with this was he should have used a different font,
5:06 There are many other fonts that would have been easier to read.
5:12 Everything is uniform, it is just hard to read because of the style that he picked
out. 5:18 That is one of the things you really
need to think about when you are putting your board together.
5:23 This board, he had a good idea, 5:26 This background was all done on a large
format printer. There is so much going on here
5:30 That you can't even see what is underneath. 5:33 You need to think about that,
5:34 Try not to do too much in the background when putting your board together.
5:41 So that is some ideas for you to think about when you are laying out your board,
5:47 We want you to make sure you plan it out and
5:52 Lay everything out ahead of time and make sure you have covered all the items in
your rubric 6:00 Because we want you to get full credit.
6:03 Thank you very much.
