VHS players are no longer considered part of the campus standard and are not installed
in the campus smart classrooms. VHS tapes can be converted to digital formats for use
in classrooms. For more information contact the Blackboard Resource Center at 278-7373.
If you have VHS materials that have not been converted, a limited number of VHS machines
are available for checkout. For more information or to reserve a VHS player, contact Classroom
and Video Services at 278-2674.
The first step in operating the VHS player is to press the "on" button, located on the
control panel, this turns on the video projector.
On the back of the VHS player is an HDMI port. Connect the HDMI cable to this port, and to
the HDMI port on the control panel.
Connect the AC power cable to the outlets available on the teaching station.
After the projector has warmed up and the "on" button has stopped flashing, press the
button on the front of the control panel labeled "HDMI."
Press the power button to turn on the VHS player.
Insert your tape into the VHS player and press the play button on the front of the machine.
All controls and functions are controlled from the VHS machine. Adjust the room volume
using the "Volume" *** on the control panel.
When finished, remove your tape from the VHS and remove the HDMI cable. When leaving the
classroom, take the VHS player and cable with you, you are responsible for returning the
player to Classroom and Video Services.
Before leaving the classroom, remember to turn off the video projector by pressing the
"off" button, which is located on the control panel.
