jbjb Unusual Exercise Beach Channel Digging FITNESS TRAINER Alright, we re in Malllacoota
Beach, which is just 6 hours east of Melbourne and we have Sandra and Christian here, and
what we ve got is quite an interesting situation where an unusual type exercise is actually
taking place, it s beach excavation or beach digging. So Christian and Sandra do you want
to tell us a bit about how this all came about, why you re digging this massive trench out
to the ocean. CHRISTIAN Well it s been closed for about 3 months now and the water s just
risen and risen and it s getting close to the bridge, but you have no fun coming to
a beach when you ve got no water running through, rivers, like well just ocean and it s not
that safe for kids to swim in. So with the river running it s better. FITNESS TRAINER
So Sandra, how have you found it for the kids anyway about them being outside and exercising?
SANDRA s been great, no playstation, no DVD s, no gameboys. They get out here on the beach
and they re running around having fun so I recommend it. FITNESS TRAINER So pretty committed
to shoveling, I mean SANDRA m not, they are. FITNESS TRAINER ve got a younger fellow here
that almost looks like he s about to die. SANDRA Yes. He is very determined FITNESS
TRAINER s quite a task, so do you think by tomorrow you ll have this open? CHRISTIAN
Definitely. SANDRA Oh wishful thinking maybe. CHRISTIAN Oh it s going to be open tomorrow
no matter what. I don t care if I have to dig all night. FITNESS TRAINER Laughing, Yeah.
SANDRA Depends on the tide, so. FITNESS TRAINER Just some quick pointers too, whenever you
re shoveling remember to make sure you re not doing this, cause you can strain your
lower back. So always go down into like a squat position and get really low, and stick
your butt out, so this is to make sure you re not doing this because you can hurt your
lower back. So you just have to be careful. The last think you want to do is to hurt your
back in trying to excavate. So, well thanks a lot Sandra and Christian for the interview

I might as well have a crack in doing some beach excavation. It s a great form of exercise
