There are ways to get a criminal
threats case dismissed.
One is to argue that the threat was never made.
A lot of times alleged victims are really making up a story.
Your ex-wife may be angry with you, out to get you.
And so she calls the police and accuses you of having
threatened her when, in fact, you never did that.
Other times, a person may actually make what appears to
be a threat, but they're not serious.
And in the context, the alleged victim doesn't really
take it seriously.
It may have been just made in anger or in jest.
But if the alleged victim really wasn't scared, didn't
take it seriously, then it's not a criminal
threat under the law.
