What's your name and your major and your year in School?
My name is Wells, I am a sociology and psychology double major, and a senior in the college
of LAS.
Can you describe some of the things you do with the Family Resiliency Center, what projects
are you working on, and some of the responsibilities that you have.
I work with several different people in the Familiy Resiliency Center on several different
projects. For example, I worked with Dr. Ebata on the Just-In-Time Parenting website and
I worked with Dr. McElwain in the Teller Transition Project.
What kinds of things do you do for these faculty members?
For Dr. Ebata, I'm in charge of maintaining the Just-In-Time Parenting Wiki website. I'm
also in charge of adding content, and for the Teller Transition Project, I help record
the child in emotional assesment battery in the Familiy Resiliency Center.
How do these sorts of things fit into your area of interest?
The content that a lot of these researchers research fits into my area of interest in
developmental psychology. They work with a bunch of kids and what they do. I'm really
interested in it. It helps open doors, gives me ideas for stuff that I want to work on
later on.
If you were talking to some students, what would you tell them that some of the benefits
are of being involved in a research project?
Some of the benefits are, they give you a lot of experience, makes you more attracted
to graduate school, makes you more attracted to jobs, looks great on the résumé, and
most importantly, gives me contacts and it's great for networking.
