It was a fun time. We all got tables;
lot of power outlets at Starbucks so thats a good thing. They encourage computer use
We were getting looks and people were looking over.
Lot of people thought the computers were public computers for everybody to use.
Neil came in, he setup his computer, and he left to go get his coffee.
This guy came over and just sat down, trying to use Neil's computer.
I came back, and there was a guy sitting at the computer, I said "Sorry this is actually my computer"
He said "How long have you actually been on here!?"
I said: "Well it doesn't matter, this is actually my computer."
He's like "Well how long have you been on it?"
I was like "Well about 15 minutes or so, but its mine, so its not a public thing."
Overall it was funny. A lot of people wanted to know if I could get online.
And I could, I didn't want to pay for T-Mobile, but I did get to browse the ITunes selection.
I was cool. It was really fun.
I busted my mouse in my laptop case on the way over.
So I thought that was gonna screw stuff up.
But I was able to use my keyboard to get Microsoft Word open.
But on my way out, a guy that was in the Starbucks was like "I'll sell ya a laptop"
And I just ignored him because that's crazy because I wouldn't spend that much
for a little convenience.
The manager actually came up to me and he asked me if I was taping.
He said "You can't be taping the customers."
I said "I'm just a student at FIT. I saw this was all going on and it was all really
fascinating."
He said "You just can't tape these customers. They are paying customers
and they are here to do their work."
They've got their midterms or what ever.
I was taping right by Joe when this girl walked up and thought Joe's computer
belonged to Starbucks. And she says to me "Are you waiting for the internet?"
So I was like "No" and she's standing there
like waiting for Joe to finish packing up.
And then there's this moment when she sees he's actually packing up the computer.
She's standing there waiting for it. Her first reaction's oh, oh!
I'm so embarrassed. Then she's like wait, why the hell does this guy have his whole desktop here?
That was kinda funny.
She was delighted. She thought the whole thing was hilarious.
