Hello! My name is Diego Oliveira
This is my presentation video for the MIT School of Management
I hope you enjoy it!
I was born in Niteroi, a city in Rio de Janeiro neighborhood and
I have spent my early childhood in this charmly place.
Known to Brazilians as "The Wonderful City"
Its hospitality and warm welcoming
have contributed to build up my personality.
After graduating from high school in Sao Paulo, I moved to Campinas
to pursue my Bachelor in Computer Engineering at UNICAMP
UNICAMP is one of Brazil's most prestigious universities,
with renowned professors and a great infrastructure.
At university I had also a good time
by joining both the Samba Drumming Club
and The Department of the Athletics.
Then… I started my professional career in Sao Paulo
After a few job experiences I joined Telefonica | VIVO
The leader telecommunication company in both fixed and mobile segment
At VIVO, I have further developed my business knowledge
at Stategic Planning and M&A projects
Besides… I have volunteered at TETO
A Latin American NGO that fights against extreme poverty
Every 2-day volunteering construction was inspiring for me
as it developed my sense of responsibility towards the society
A responsibility of changing Brazilian's ambiguous reality
Although it’s economy grows in a fast pace…
… it is 4th worst country in social inequality at Latin America
… it was ranked 88th at UNESCO Education Quality Ranking
… and it is has no university among the Top 100 worldwide
I truly believe that only innovative models and innovative solutions
along with innovative leaders might help changing this scenario
And that is why I have chosen MIT Sloan.
Thank you for watching!
