Medical Errors is an important subject for everyone to know about. It's often difficult
to find medical information regarding medical mistakes and any medical diagnosis your physician
make have given you
I'm a physician in the MD errors network and we're going to briefly discuss medical
errors.
The fact is you wouldn't know if your doctor was committing medical errors.
Most patients trust their physician and accept what he says on faith, based on his previous
track record or reputation. After all, your Doctor went through Medical School and has
hopefully learned through experience to avoid medical mistakes.
Most patients appreciate a stern authoritative approach. Since they do not have sufficient
medical knowledge to actually assess competence, they assume a physician with such an approach
is competent and recommend him to relatives and friends.
Such a physician even if incompetent, can enjoy much success, since patients discuss
medical errors much less often than accomplishments by their own doctor.
What can you do to improve your ability to both select a competent physician and detect
if he is committing medical errors or delivering inappropriate care?
Ask educated questions derived by checking your diagnosis and its accepted treatments
from reliable sources such as ahrq.gov, fda.gov, pubmed.gov, and some commercial medical information
sites. You can go to the library and find a medical dictionary where you can read more
about your diagnosis, your systems and prescribed treatments.
And you have the Internet, which is how we're meeting now. Discuss your doctor and treatment
on MdErrors.com and see what others who may have had similar experiences or more medical
knowledge than friends and relatives think.
Click on the link below this video now, mderrors.com, and become familiar with a social media and
medical site where individuals, physicians and other medical professionals share their
experiences and provide valuable information.
However, please do not take information obtained to be actual medical advice, but only issues
to discuss with your health care provider or a second medical opinion if necessary.
