Hello my name is Mario and today I’m bringing you another episode of ‘Mastering Dogtags”
a video series where I bring you a gameplay where I unlock a Master Dogtag, you know
that special dogtag you get after getting 500 kills with a weapon.
This time it's the M16 dogtag,
unlockable after getting 500 kills
with either the M16A3
or the M16A4
or a combination of both.
The topic I will be covering today is the list of tentative fixes
and changes, not yet officialized and my personal opinion about it.
The list was posted by demize99
yesterday on the official Battlefield forums,
as always I will leave the link in the description so you can check it out by
yourself.
The list includes a bunch of weapons that are going to be nerfed
and buffed again.
Two weapons caught my attention here. First
the FAMAS
is going to be buffed
and second the M16
is going to be nerfed.
It looks like the rumor was true.
I wonder how DICE makes a list like this?
I ask this because the post clearly states
hat they use all the feedback they get from Battlelog,
Symthic, Reddit, Twitter,
Facebook and whatever. But really?
from all those places, all the feedback you collected is regarding weapons?
People overall think
that weapons and their statistics
are way more important than anything else?
I can tell you right now four things that in my opinion
are way more important that nerfing or buffing any weapon,
stuff that is actually breaking the game
and hurting the whole Battlefield 3 experience.
First, servers browser.
okay we have the problem with the custom servers but
let's ignored that
for a little while.
There’s no way to know the status of the server
and by that I mean
The actual number of tickets in the server
grand total and left.
Let's say
they are playing some rush for example
you don’t know what zone is being defended
or what players are on what team.
To me this is a must.
sometimes I join a server and then I realize that there are only 10
tickets left if i'm lucky of course.
sometimes I join the server and then bam
“Your Team Lost”
or "Your Team Won"
Also servers need some sort of queuing mechanism...
if the round is about to finish, let me queue myself
and I will join you the next round. Second,
Sound
and to me this is really disorienting.
There is a problem that still happens on the PS3.
Sometimes after a bunch of explosions you lose the sound.
you can only hear your soldier when running,
when reloading and sometimes you hear your teammates.
Nothing else.
Of course, to fix this problem you have to die
but missing sound
kills the experience
and let’s don’t forget about the voice chat.
that still on the PC is non-existent
and on the PS3 sometimes fails.
Third and to me, the worst bug yet to be fixed
random crashing and console freezing.
I don’t know if this happens on PC
but at least on the PS3
this happens every now and then, why?
who knows... but this is not new, before
the game used to freeze in the loading screen.
the first screen , yes
when you load up the game.
Now it happens when you start a round
when you spawn
or just randomly
and the number four
and last one
is glitching.
It's either the people on the roofs on Ziba Tower or the people under the
map on Operation Metro or Operation Firestorm.
Glitching must be addressed first before anything else.
All those fours errors, to me are way more important than reducing the weapon
accuracy
of the M16 or increasing the reloading time of the FAMAS... hell...
I think fixing those bugs
are way more important than fixing the glitch with the AUG A3 and the smoke.
But then again, I’m just the guy playing the game, I'm not the guy developing it.
and in the end I don’t know what drives
these decisions in the first place.
What do you guys think?
Do you feel like we need another weapon nerfing/buffing patch?
Don’t you think any of the four problems I just mentioned are
way more important than that?
Please let me know in your comments.
I honestly appreciate what DICE does by improving and fixing the game,
there is no doubt about it.
However I don’t think they need to spend too much time fixing stuff that
doesn't really need to be fixed
at least right now.
There are more important things to fix.
Things that actually break the game.
Right now, the weapons as they are, are okay to me. I don't have any
complaints.
They need to be fixed and improved? yes!
probably
but not now
That's it for me for now.
Please let me know what think about this tentative list in the comments
below.
I honestly hope the next patch fixes at least one of the problems I just mentioned.
My name is Mario
and thank you for watching and thank you for listening
I will talk to you later. Until then
see you on the battlefield soldier.
