Do you need to find a peer-reviewed article for a class project?
This is a good place to start at the main search box on the library homepage.
I'm going to look for Charter schools.
This gives me hundreds of thousands of results.
I'll limit my search to United States
and then you can refine your search
to limit articles from scholarly publications
including peer-reviewed articles.
This will make your search focus on articles
from things like the Policy Studies journal
or Sociology of Education.
They should be mostly research based and will give you the kind of information
you can use in a research paper.
So that's one way to get started.
Another thing you can do is go to articles and databases
and look at these subjects listed. So again if I am looking for information
on Charter schools I could go to education
and see databases that are
focused on education research,
ERIC for example.
So if I search here
for Charter schools
and when I limit my search to peer-reviewed articles
This should also give me results that are focused on research
regarding Charter schools
in education.
For all of these you can use the Find It @ UW button to find the full text of
the article
and that should get you to
the articles themselves.
