To download audio for Tag Reader books, you first need to download and install the LeapFrog
Connect Application on your computer. You can then easily transfer audio onto and off
of your child's Tag Reader, and create a LeapFrog Learning Path to see the skills and activities
your child is exploring. If you haven't already downloaded the application, go to leapfrog.com/support,
and click on Tag.This will take you to the Tag Reading System customer support page. Please note that you must be
connected to the internet to download LeapFrog Connect. On the Tag customer
support page, select the LeapFrog Connect download for your operating system. The application
is available for the PC and Mac, if you're using a PC, click the run option when you
are asked whether you want to run or save the file. Click run again, when asked whether
you want to run the software. If you're using a Mac, download the installer to your computer.
After the download is complete, find the LeapFrog Connect installer on your computer and double-click
to open. Once LeapFrog Connect is downloaded to your computer, you'll see a welcome screen.
You will be instructed to make sure that all other programs are closed on your computer.
When all other programs are closed, click next and follow the prompts to complete the
installation. Installation can take several minutes and includes pauses, so please be patient.
When finished, you'll see a screen confirming that the LeapFrog Connect Application has
successfully installed on your computer. Click the continue button to set up your child's
Tag Reader. If you just completed downloading and installing the LeapFrog Connect Application,
you will be directed to the LeapFrog Connect home screen. If you previously installed the
Connect Application open LeapFrog Connect by clicking the LeapFrog Connect icon on your
computer desktop. You can also launch LeapFrog Connect from your computer's program files.
Click set up your Tag and follow the on screen instructions to connect your child's Tag Reader
to your computer with the included USB cable. You'll now need to create a LeapFrog parent
account. Your LeapFrog parent account is the first step to giving you access to the LeapFrog
Learning Path which offers personalized insight into the skills your child is exploring while
playing with LeapFrog products. It also gives you access to special games and rewards your
child can earn by reading their Tag books. Creating a LeapFrog parent account is easy!
Just enter your name, email address, your year of birth, and choose a password. Your
year of birth is used to determine eligibility and will not be saved. Then click agree and
continue. If you already have a LeapFrog account, click sign in to enter your email address
and password on the already have an account screen. After creating your LeapFrog account,
you'll need to provide information about who plays with the toy. This will create a personal
LeapFrog Learning Path for your child and allows you to see the skills your child is
exploring while playing with their Tag Reader. Click who plays with this Tag and enter your
child's first name, month and year of birth, grade level, and gender, and then click save.
When you're finished, click finish. Now you'll be directed to the LeapFrog Connect home page.
All of the LeapFrog toys that you have connected will be displayed in the center of the screen.
Click the name in the Tag box to enter the Tag view. If you see a yellow button with
an exclamation mark next to any name, that means your child's toy is not completely set
up. Click the yellow button and follow the on screen instructions to complete the setup.
The first page you'll see is the Tag home page. To download audio for Tag books, click
on audio downloads. On the top of this screen you'll see three tabs designating different
countries with the United States and Canada tab as the default. Choose the appropriate
tab based on your country. Next, scroll through the list of available books to find
the book your child has. When you've located the book, click the download audio button.
Multiple books can download at the same time. You'll now see a pop up window indicating
that the audio download is in progress. When the audio is finished downloading, you'll
see a message reminding you to go to the on my Tag page to save the audio file to your
child's Tag Reader. Click the ok button to dismiss the message. Once you get the hang
of this, you can choose not to see these windows again, and can instead just look in the message
center. You've just downloaded the audio to your library, so now you need to save the
audio to your child's Tag Reader. To do this, you'll first need to click the on my Tag tab. Which will bring up this
page. Make sure your child's Tag Reader is connected to your computer using the included
USB cable, and that the Tag Reader is turned on. The green light on the Tag Reader should be
glowing. In the left column, you'll see all the audio books that have been downloaded
to your library and are available to add to your child's Tag Reader. In the right column
you'll see the audio books that are currently on your child's Tag Reader. To add a book
to your child's Tag Reader, click the add button. To check how much space is being used,
look at the memory gauge, which approximates the amount of memory available on the device.
If there is not enough room on your child's Tag Reader, then you'll see this window telling
you to remove one or more books from the Tag Reader, and to try again. Click ok to continue.
To remove a book from your child's Tag Reader, click on the remove button. Books that have
been removed from your child's Tag Reader still remain in the library
and can be put back on your child's Tag Reader again at any time. When you're finished adding
and removing books, click the save to Tag button. Now you'll see that the audio is being
saved to your child's Tag Reader. Congratulations! That's all it takes to download audio to your
child's Tag Reader!
