>>Devin: Hi, my name is Devin and I'm here to tell you the basics about college.
Most classes at UNCW are worth three credit hours such as Introduction to Theatre, Basic
Calculus or American History. Classes that include labs are typically 4
credit hours, for example Principles of Biology or General Chemistry.
To be a full-time student, you need to be enrolled in at least 12 hours of credit, typically,
students take between 14 and 16 hours. That breaks down to roughly 4 or 5 classes
per semester. Please remember to turn in the most recent
transcripts to UNCW from College Board or the school you attended for your previous
college courses. This will help you during registration and save you time towards graduation.
To graduate and wear an awesome graduation cap, you must earn a minimum of 124 hours
of credit. In those 124 hours, you must complete:
-University Studies (these are your general education requirements that all students will
need regardless of your major)
-Your Major Courses
-And Electives, depending on your major If you have questions about graduation requirements
or more, you can ask an Advisor at your Orientation.
