Hi this is Mario from Musikmesse TV, today I have a Framus Panthera. Meanwhile,
this is a classic
by the German guitar manufacturer Framus.
This model in supreme design has a mahogany corpus and a maple
table as well as a glued-in mahogany neck.
This is a classical composition of tonewoods and thus the best prerequisite
for a premium instrument.
A table made of flamed maple was attached to the 32 millimeter thick mahogany corpus
in triple AAA quality and a wonderful Burgundy Blackburst
high gloss finish.
However, the back side of the corpus and neck
is untreated and finished in clear matt varnish.
Therefore, a good grip is provided, especially at the back of the neck.
The corpus is designed in a way to have easy access to
the upper frets.
The fretboard is made of tigerstripe ebony with a very
smooth surface.
Small oval inlays were inserted at the prominent positions
for your guidance.
A special feature
are the side dots on the fretboard edge.
They are fluorescent and self-recharging
and glow in the dark for 6 to 8 minutes.
Thus the fingers always find the right way even on dark stages.
Thanks to the Neck Processing Center at Framus the side dots are installed
with unequaled precision
and thus get a wonderfully precious and homogenous appearance.
Another thing worth mentioning is that Framus has set new standards in instrument making
with its Invisible Fretwork Technology IFT for short.
The fret slots are not simply cut across
but on each side of the fretboard two millimeters
of fretboard wood remain.
In this way, a U profile is created
which increases neck stability against twisting and improves the transfer of vibrations
into the instrument.
Maximum precision and accurate insertion is guaranteed thanks to state-of-the-art
engineering and measurement techniques at Framus.
The slightly angled headstock is equipped with mechanics by Sperzel.
The truss rod can be accessed by detaching the bell
with the imprint of the model name.
The strings run at a scale of 628 millimeters
from a Graph Tech Black Tusq Saddle to the Tune-o-Matic Bridge including
the stoptail by TonePros.
Two Humbuckers by Seymour Duncon are responsible for the electric part. A 59er
model on the neck position and a SH 14 Custom 5 on the bridge position.
They can be selected all together or individually
with a 3-way switch.
They can be controlled with a volume control and a tone control.
The tone control is additionally equipped with a
push-pull function.
And therefore the Humbuckers can be split and converted into single coils
if desired.
The Framus Panthera Supreme is a fully developed and perfect instrument
with finest workmanship from German production. Once you hold it in
your hands
you don’t want to give it away anymore.
It comes with a massive RockCase Flightcase
including the Framus User Kit.
That’s it from my side about the Framus Panthera Supreme.
Bye your Mario.
