Hello, everyone! My name is Alex Florin and now I want to talk to you about a video which I found this weekend.
These two girls talk about treasure national music and dance in a awesome video.
Protagonists of this video are two young Latvian who turn a simple school project into a way to promote Latvian music and dance.
They stop strangers on the street and ask them to sing a national or international song.
How do you find this song? It is called ”Six young drummers” and is part of Latvian folklore. Dont you think...it sounds like one of our songs?
Yes. The event seems even more valuable, as benefits more from the active involvement of citizens in Riga.
...there appeared strongest song, where tension acts involving life
Of course, together with word and gesture.
I was delighted to see that any person in Riga could mention at least one traditional song.
The most interesting thing is the interest for folklore.
In every festival there are a lot of people singing or dancing together.
Like that....
Dance must be naturally coming from itself, like any other mode of expression that we use frequently.
...I cannot move on without mentioning what he said George Enescu, our great composer.
Who use to say about folklore...quote:
Folklore makes you understand everything. It's the music itself scientist than scholar. And this in an unusual way.
Interestingly, this is true for other peoples folklore too. I will let you notify this, alone, watching the last frames of the Latvian video.
Finally, the project of the two students helped me learn a lot about Latvian folklore.
I have learned some of the most famous of their songs, I found out something about their dances, and, most important....
....I found out that all countries have something in common. This is called folklore.
