Access the Protein Library from the link in the PepTracker header.
You can search the protein library by entering a Uniprot accession number.
Alternatively, searching for keywords or gene symbol will return all matching proteins.
Clicking an accession number in the search results will display information about that protein.
As well as quick links to the Uniprot database, this page summarises the resultsets this protein was found in, and the keywords associated with those experiments, for additional context.
Selecting a resultset will display more information about it, with the option to jump straight to the protein group in which the protein was found.
The protein library also allows you to define your own protein groups, and explore those created by other members of your lab.
Protein groups allow you to select a list of target proteins which you may want to identify across a range of datasets.
To start, click 'Add protein group' from the 'Protein groups' tab.
If you select from the gene ontology list, you can create a protein group corresponding to that GO term.
Alternatively, you can enter a comma-delimited list of accession numbers, or search more broadly, to create a completely customised group.
After entering a search term, all matching proteins will be displayed to the right.
Select some or all of them to add the proteins to your group, or perform a new search.
Your protein group will update at the bottom of the page as you add more proteins to it.
You can perform multiple protein searches, and continue to add more proteins to your group.
Finally, choose whether your protein group is private (visible only to you) or public (visible to the rest of your lab).
And, give your group a meaningful name and description to find it again in the future.
Gene ontology groups are automatically named based on the GO Term you selected.
After your protein group is saved, you can review it in the future from the protein groups page.
