Hi, I’m Dr. Roberto Azcárraga, part
of the Primary Care team at Kaiser
Permanente in Northern California.
Do you feel nervous when you come
for a doctor office visit? Many patients
do. But relax. I’m here to tell you what
to expect to put your mind at ease.
First of all, you have the right to
choose your own doctor. You can
go online to read profiles of all our
physicians to help you choose the
one who is right for you.
Good health begins with developing
a relationship with your personal
physician. It’s important to feel
comfortable with your doctor and to
be able to ask any questions you may
have.
Secondly, it’s a good idea to write
down all your questions and concerns
before your visit. Also list all the
medications you are taking – even
over-the-counter supplements.
At your visit, you may be asked to fill
out paperwork. This may include your
health history. And if you have any
questions about your benefits, check
your benefits description or contact
Member Services at 1-800-464-4000.
During your initial visit, let your doctor
know that you want to be active in
making decisions about treatment.
Listen carefully, and don’t be afraid
to ask for more information if there’s
something you don’t understand.
Our desire is to have a lifelong
relationship with you to help you stay
healthy and prevent disease.
After your visit, your doctor
may provide you with additional
information.
Kaiser Permanente’s integrated
healthcare system covers all your
medical needs. After you see your
doctor, you can get any needed lab
work done, or fill your prescriptions all
in one place. We make it convenient
for you.
And in between your visits you can
stay connected with your doctor by
email. Thank your confidence in
Kaiser Permanente!
