Joe Decker: (off screen) For you guys that don't know me, my name is Joe Decker. I'm a Guinness World Record holder...
Joe Decker: ...for fitness. I go around the world and try to do the craziest events in the world.
Joe Decker: I have a company, based in San Diego -- we're kind of nationwide now -- called Gut Check Fitness.
I work a lot with people that are... you know, that have been to the gym and couldn't do it, and with people who are trying to take control and get themselves fit.
Joe Decker (off screen): And one of the things that I do is try to create camaraderie in a group dynamic, where people become part of a family.
Joe Decker: (off screen) Because most people are intimidated. If you're overweight and out of shape, you're going to be intimidated by just going to the gym alone...
Joe Decker (off screen): ...or going to a class alone. So I come in...
Joe Decker: ... create a community, make it for all levels -- everybody's welcome.
Eric Skocaj: One of the things he was telling us not to do is, kind of, slough through our work outs.
Eric Skocaj (offscreen): It's the whole 'getting out of it, what you put into it.' Sometimes I kind of slack.
Eric Skocaj: This is just good mental reinforcement here, seeing him.
Kelsey McCausland: We just wanted to be pushed. We're used to pushing people all week as personal trainers.

Joe Decker: I saw, one day, an advertisement for this thing called the 'World's Fittest Man.' You can imagine, any 27-year-old man is like,
Joe Decker (off screen): 'Why is he so fit? Why is he so fit? I'm more fit than he is.' Of course, me and all my buddies were in a bar drinking beer as we're saying this.
Joe Decker (off screen): And we wrote down on napkins, and I took it home and put it on my wall. And, you know, for a couple of years, I'd sit there and I'd look at it like...
Joe Decker (off screen):...'World's Fittest Man,' 'World's Fittest Man'...
Joe Decker: No, I can't beat that guy. No, I can't beat that guy. So two years go by, and I was turning 30 that year...
I had a lot of things... It was like the New Millennium, I was turning 30, like 'it's the end of the world. After 30, life's all downhill.' (off screen audience laughs)
So, I was like, 'What can I do this year to really set myself apart?' And I was like, 'I'm going to try for the Guinness Book of World Records. I'm going to give it a try.'
These are steps, basic steps, that I take. Again... But it works. This is just true... Things that have worked for me.
Not saying this stuff will work for you, but I'll just let you know what works for me.
We put together a weekly menu. So I know, I know... Generally, I try to know that like...
Okay. Monday, maybe Mexican. Tuesday is Italian. Wednesday is Chinese. Thursday may be fish, and Friday, maybe a fun day or whatever. Something like that.
They are trying to sell you, like fat loss, Hydroxycut, Xenadrine, blah, blah. All these diet pills. All this stuff like that.
The exercise equipment, you know, all these expensive -- 'For 39.99 for 30 years,' you pay for this, you can get you a Bowflex 2, you know.
No. Get a set of dumb bells and go outside on a jungle gym. Do some pull ups and push ups, you'll be fine.
Okay! I want everybody to stand up on your feet. Everybody up! Go quick!
