Candlelight Demonstration at Brandenburger Gate
The cyber election enabled Park Geun-Hye's victory. We are calling for her resignation!
We welcome the members of IG Metall union.
A joint statement in Korean and German.
The previous year's presidential election was illegal.
The South Korean Intelligence Service campaigned illegally for Park Geun-Hye with 22 million tweets using fake accounts.
If we don't put right this crime, democracy can no longer exist in South Korea.
We want to ask Park Geun-Hye and her government.
If you are innocent, why are you afraid of the truth? Why are you afraid of clarifying the election scandal?
Right-wing South Koreans hold a demonstration in the close vicinity of the candlelight demonstration.
Their goal: Sabotage the candlelight demonstration.
They insult the candlelight demonstrators as "communist pigs" and "slaves of North Korea".
The police warn them not to provoke and disturb the candlelight demonstrators so that the candlelight demonstration can be performed peacefully.
We are calling for the disbandment of the South Korean Intelligence Service which has campaigned illegally for Park Geun-Hye.
We support the fight of the South Korean Railway Workers' Union and South Korea's democracy movement.
Your claims are justified!
Your fight is our fight!
Long live international solidarity.
I'm a train driver for the S-Bahn in Berlin.
I was in South Korea this year and visited the South Korean unionist colleagues.
We wrote together a protest statement to the President Park Geun-Hye.
Due to the current political situation and the massive attacks against the rights of the South Korean Railway Workers' Union by the government,
we, the S-Bahn workers of the group "100% S-Bahn" and members of the railway and transport union EVG and German Train Drivers' Union GDL, protest with all our might against these repressive actions.
President Park Geun-Hye, stop immediately the criminal prosecution of unionists of KRWU and workers of KORAIL!
Only a few steps away from here is the Reichstag building.
The building bears the sentence "Dem Deutschen Volke"
It means "For the German People"
This means the parliament and the elected representatives intend to work in the interests of the people.
Yes, that's exactly the point. The representatives, chancellor and president are in the parliament to work for us the people.
Believe me, we won't simply beg you to give us back our democracy.
Believe me, we will recapture our democracy which you have stolen from us.
I'm here for my family.
I want to show them and build for them a righteous and self-confident South Korea.
We demand the resignation of Park Geun-Hye!
I'm an overseas student in Berlin.
There are so many things I have to study, but I can't study calmly and have to be here because of the president who won the election illegally.
President: OUT!
So many things are going seriously wrong in South Korea at the moment.
I've heard about the battle the city Milyang has been waging for their rights against the government. I have cried a lot because of their sad story.
Meanwhile an adage exists in South Korea: So many tears run off at Milyang's pylon.
I've heard quite recently through the posters of the movement „How are you doing?" about the Milyang problem.
This was the reason I started to be interested in others' well-being.
Until now I had the feeling I could only "like" and "share" the comments on facebook.
My father must have a medical checkup every month. I worry about him.
He must pay for the checkups himself and the costs are already expensive. But how expensive will the medical costs be after the privatization of our health care?
How can they dare to crush the living will of the people? This is barbaric. If you are a human being, you must not do this.
I'm a Vietnam veteran.
Since Park Geun-Hye has become the president, you can see more and more that the past dictatorship of her father is taking shape once again.
The pivotal question for us today is: Do we want to live as people under absolutist rule,
or do we want to live as a free people under democracy full of vivid philosophy and a vivid soul?
Geun-Hye, go away!
Go away Geun-Hye!
The South Korean Ministery of Defence has officially forbidden our traditional song "Arirang", the song of our Korean soul. So incredible.
Well, let us sing the song "Arirang" powerfully then.
For a democracy full of vivid philosophy and a vivid soul..
