Hello and welcome to by video journal.
Actually, I think they're called "vlogs" now or something like that.
You probably know me but if not I'll tell you a little bit about myself.
I started writing journals as a kid
and eventually I created a website for my journal and it was called
"Somewhere in Time". That stayed online for about a decade or so
and then I backed away from it for quite a while, but the truth is: I miss doing it... writing journals, that is.
Most people will keep their journals offline and private
but for me I am too much of an attention seeker for that.
I mean, what's the point of writing if it is not going to be read?
Now there may be one or two selfish reasons for keeping a journal...
Life is pretty funny. Especially my life.
I like going back and reading things that I had almost forgotten about.
As a matter of fact there are times where I'll just read
the title of an entry and that will bring back a memory of what happened that day or whatever.
If you've been to my online journal
then you'll know that I experimented with a lot of different things over the years:
some comments, some scripts; Actually, I even had an audio blog
where you could listen to me speak
rather than just read the text on the page. That's what this is: This is an experiment
with a new type of journaling.
I figure: I've got a camera...
I have this green screen...
I have a love of videography, art and music, production and all things creative.
And I have this compulsive need to tell complete strangers what's going on in my life
so, I figure, why not put them all together?
Now, my hope here is that you the viewer and me the writer have a really good time.
I used to write about some pretty dark and depressing stuff back in the day
I don't really want to do that anymore. I'd like this to be fun with all kinds of
pop-ups..
and funny graphics...
and sound effects...
Whatever else comes to mind.
Now, of course
assembling a video production is far more time consuming then just
writing out an entry and posting it online.
It requires some thought, some planning and that may actually
turn out to be a good thing in this case.
For one, it means I will not be making entries anywhere near as long as I used to.
Probably not as frequently either.
To be honest
I can't even say how many of these I'm going to end up doing in a month's time.
Maybe one...
Maybe two... Maybe six...
Maybe zero... I don't know.
I guess we'll see!
But, this just may be the start of something good, huh?
