Hey this is Michael Cain. Now before you even start writing your blog
you need to know what to write about, right? so you need to come up with
different subjects and topics to start writing about.
Now what are the best things to write about? Well,
pretty much anything that you know or that you're good at,
any experiences that you have, hobbies, anything like that;
Anything that you know as a person that inspires you.
Pretty much anything that your mind can conjure up
you can write about. So I was
chatting with my friend the other day and
she was asking me what to write about
and so I was giving her some suggestions and I'll just give you the same suggestions.
Write about whatever you want,
what you know about, stuff you know, stuff that inspires you,
stuff that matters to you. You can write about family,
God, food, nutrition, sex, foreplay,
jogging, fixing a toilet,
buying wedding rings. Just makeup stuff.
How to get rid of split ends. Anything that your brain can conjure up
is search for on Google every single day. If you write about it, your blog will be found.
Write about the date April 29 2013 and she asked me why is that date so special
and I told her well it's because that's the day I gave you the instruction
that's going to completely change the outcome of your future.
And so she was giving me a little lip, being a little bit uncertain about if she
could do it or not and I said, just seriously you can write about whatever,
doesn't matter. What matters is putting a blog everyday
and the reason you want to put the blog post every day is because Google listens to
blogs that have content distributed to it on a daily
basis. So when you put something on your blog daily
your posts will be found on the first page of Google.
Then I went on to tell her, what you can relate to others from your perspective
is totally unique to you. A little bit later on in the chat I told her
we can write blogs daily and we'll make them humorous,
fear inspiring, hopeful.
I love this part of the chat. It's where I told her that I was uh... about
ready to grab some lunch and so I told her
I finished eating, grabbed me a beer,
and writing my blog post right now about the beer I am drinking.
Uh... here's where I told her that I was going to write my blog post about why my
friend thinks she sucks as a blogger. I was referring to her, cuz that's what she
thinks. But most people are usually critical of themselves
and what people also have to remember is that the more you practice the better
you get. so I threw together a quick word doc list
of different topics and subjects that you can write about.
You can literally just think up anything you want and start writing about it. So
here's some keywords I threw down. You can write about your hobbies, your life
experiences, exercise, parenting, boating,
when you were a kid, how to drive a car, how to raise kids, how
to heal a sunburn, how to play the violin, how to get a date,
my rock collection, the gold and silver market, fixing computers,
getting enough sleep, dreams, the book of Daniel,
conspiracy. These are just a few subjects that I
typed up in a matter of one minute
just things off the top of my head. You can really just write about anything
that your mind can conjure up.
Let's say you grew up as a kid and you were good in music
and you played the violin and you played the piano.
Write about that. Write about
how to play the piano. Write about
why playing the piano
is so much fun. There's just
an endless number of different ways that you can throw a subject
together in a blog post. You can write about recipes,
healthy eating, uh... talk about your favorite food.
Talk about your favorite restaurant. Write about
money tips, how to save money, how to be frugal.
Write about exercise, workout videos that you love.
Write about a diet that you're on. So really
you can come up with just about anything to write about.
Let's say you're reading a book. Write about the book that you're reading;
why you like it. Write about what you learned from the book.
Write about a movie that you watched. Write about your favorite song.
If you know how to do something, write a blog post about tips and tricks on how to
do whatever it is you know how to do.
So those are some basic ideas of what you can come up with
to start blogging daily. Once you start blogging on a consistent daily
basis you're gonna find out that writing is really fun
and that it really only takes thirty minutes out of your day,
maybe an hour if you really want to work on the
article in-depth. But basically once you start doing it and
you're in the practice of doing it it becomes easier and easier and easier,
and becomes more fun the more you do it.
I mean look at me if you take my experience the other day when I was
eating lunch and I grabbed me a beer out of the fridge,
I just started writing about the beer that I was drinking.
So don't let the idea of... you don't know what to blog about stop you from
actually writing your blogs, because you can come up with
endless subjects to blog about. There are millions and
millions of topics and subjects and keywords in this
world. So just pick one that you know about or that
you're good about and just start writing.
