Moe Moe, um I didn't go to school with actually but I had heard about her in school
um at USC. She'd done a lot of production design for other people at our school. I called
her up and we sat down and we got along so quick. It was literally like we had worked
with each other for all these years and she will do anything to make sure it looks right.
Whatever it is, whether it's painting the walls all night long or getting that specific
carving in the wood right, her attention to detail is impeccable and I love that she pays
attention to all those things cause it makes all the difference for sure. The LXD is the
hardest, most rewarding, collaborative um and fastest show that I've ever worked on.
Jon's vision is something that we really enjoy making come true. We're responsible for the
look of the film as far as what you see on the furniture, the props that they're holding,
the walls, the backdrop, you know whatever is not a person and not on a person. All of
that stuff is us. You know one of my favorite episodes is "Can't Dance." It's so fun, it's
such, it's got such a great number and it looks amazing, if you can believe that this was
an empty room. She's really good about sort of taking an empty palette and painting
it with the LXD's world.
We'd go shop in our prop houses and ah you know other retail establishments
and we'd say okay, this would be great as a table for them to dance on. Is it sturdy
enough? Is it made well enough? Is it gonna withstand you know two dancers hopping up
and down on it? We have a kind of a growing effects department where we like things really
smoky, we like things really dusty. This year we had fire.
Each episode requires a different
approach, but each director within that episode then also required a different approach. So
it's nice to get that variation um and it keeps it fresh and fun for us. And it's a
little bit more challenging but I think we really enjoy the ah, you know putting it all
together from a whole new viewpoint.
We try and you know give the directors and
the writers what they're envisioning hopefully and usually with some luck we
are able to pull it together. It's karmically an amazing show.
