Hi. This is Yolanda Vanveen, on behalf of Expert Village. In this series, we are talking
about moon gardening (gardening with all white flowers). Now, with selecting shrubs and grasses
for your garden, there's a few things that you should look for. They are pretty simple.
Any flower that is white belongs in a garden. But, any grass or shrub that has a light foliage
(dusty miller, or a light colored flax), anything that has a light color is also perfect for
your moon garden. It doesn't have to be a big plant, it doesn't have to be a small plant;
it's all about the foliage. With shrubs and grasses, a lot of them show all through the
winter, too. So, in the winter, those are the moon garden plants that you are going
to be looking at, not the flowers (there's usually not a lot of flowers in the winter
time). So, when selecting shrubs and grasses, make sure that they are not too invasive.
There are some varieties that can just take over. So, and fragrance as well; I've got
little shrub daphonies that have a beautiful fragrance in the summer time. Those are all
perfect plants for your moon garden. So, once you've got your trees, and your shrubs and
your grasses, we'll move on in our next segment to your spring blooming bulbs for your moon
garden.
