My Dear Haiti,
I haven’t even picked up a pen to write you and the paper is crying blood
Drip, Drip, Drip, it’s dripping without wasting any time
Mother nature crept upon you without any warning
You weren’t even pregnant, yet you miscarried
You lost more than 20,000 children in the same hole
Who do we complain to?
We have a burial before the wake
Because we do not need a casket
If mother nature gives me the chance to finish write this letter to tell you that I hear
your cries
Will that make it better?
just to help you, everywhere they're taking donation
Even those who held you by the throat
Now want to let you go to help you
Accept their help as a peace offering
You can ask them for what you need because they want to hear you
Your screams are so loud, they hear you all the way in the other side
those who was ready to stab you, now they want to put down their knife
they used all the plans they have, despite all that they're still panicking
I have no tears left to cry
I have no prayers left to say
I am in more pain than a woman in labor
There is no more blood left in my veins
In my heart, there is only my love left for you
In my mind, there is only your images that i m flipping
In my songs, there is only your chorus that i m mumbling
The rainbow that cross over you only two colors
My skin's color and the Palace's color
They always say ‘you reap what you sow’
Someone who is wiser than me please tell me!
Are we in the season for reaping?
What else is going to happen?
What seed was improperly planted or fell on the wrong path…
Despite all that they say, I will not be discouraged
Because God’s eyes are shining upon you
My mom always told me that after darkness
Comes light
I am too small to console you
I do not have enough cloth to dry your eyes
But I promise you that I will be here, I will be there...
when it is time for you to laugh again
So your face can outshine the sun
And the light skinned girl next to you will be jealous
I tell you the truth
If you weren’t my mother, I would court you
It is to you I would propose and marry
But before all this happens
Believe me if you will
You will always be the subject of my prayers
I just wanted to write to say I love you
From one of your child
Dust
