Hey, what's up? I'm Babs Olusanmokun. I am your Brazilian Jiu Jitsu expert. I am a Brazilian
Jiu Jitsu black belt. I've been training Brazilian Jiu Jitsu for around 15 years now. I got my
black belt from Fabio Clemente. I am a US Grappling champion. I am a two-time Pan-American
champion. I love Jiu Jitsu because it's why I get up in the morning. There's always a
problem that you need to solve with Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. It's never easy. It's always challenging,
you know? It always pushes you. When you think you've mastered something, you find out another
way to do it even better, and somebody else proves to you that you need to adjust that
thing that you think that you've already mastered. So Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is about challenges,
and facing up to your challenges every single day. I love competing, even when I don't feel
ready or whatever. When I get there on the day the blood flows and it's a beautiful thing.
There's nothing like competition, and only those who step in know how it feels. But teaching
is something I love. I love passing on information to others. I love gaining from that passing-on.
I teach at Alliance Jiu Jitsu, along with Fabio Clemente in New York City. Hard training
makes you face reality, makes you realize you can never back up from things, you can
never run from things, and it helps me in my life. It helps me in my other endeavors.
I'm also an actor. I've done some TV work, Law & Order, Blue Bloods. I've guest-starred
in a number of TV shows, and the mentality of art, acting, I bring Jiu Jitsu to it. So
I hope as you watch these tapes that you get inspired not just to do these techniques at
home, but to actually come out and train at a qualified school. You come to the East Village,
Alliance Jiu Jitsu, I will be there. We will have fun. We will train Jiu Jitsu, get you
going, get you strong, get you together here, like stress of work and all that stuff you
got to deal with. You can leave it off the mat, train, and get it out of your system.
So come train. You'll love it. It's a challenge, and you should be facing challenges. Easy
stuff doesn't do anything for you. Trust me. Come train. Come train.
