Hi, I'm Ginger Walker, owner of Clean Junkies. We're going to talk about whitening clothes
today. You've got your normal bleach that lots of people use, that you can use certainly,
but there's lots of other items that you can whiten your clothes that people don't think
about. A little less conventional. You've got your baking soda, what you'll do, is you
just add about a half cup of this into your wash. You can use your regular detergent or
your liquid detergent and just add this to it. That will help whiten. You've also got
your vinegar, which people wouldn't think of, that really helps with the whitening.
And you would think that you might get that vinegar smell but you don't, your washing
machine may smell a little bit like it, but your clothes aren't going to smell like it
and it's a great whitener. And usually use for a normal size load, a half cup to a cup
of vinegar. A couple of other items that you can use to whiten your clothes would be Hydrogen
Peroxide, again with that you add about a half cup of Hydrogen Peroxide to your wash.
Also the item that lots of people wouldn't use that is great for all sorts of cleaning
is Borax. You can use that to whiten your clothes as well and you're going to use about
a half cup of that to whiten your clothes. Done.
