Announcer: The following is a presentation of HBO Sports.
On May 2, boxing legend Manny Pacquiao
longtime dream rival Floyd Mayweather
fight of both their illustrious careers,
the biggest fight in recent years in boxing.
To help set you up for that, we're going to take you back now
to one of the major steps forward in Pacquiao's journey.
Having startled the ringside world with his rampant destructions
of Oscar De La Hoya and Ricky Hatton,
Pacquiao now took on his largest opponent yet--
sturdy, heavy-*** welterweight Miguel Cotto.
Cotto was more than a year removed from his disastrous
first loss to Antonio Margarito and had struggled some
in his comeback victory over Joshua Clottey.
But he agreed to meet Pacquiao at a catch weight of 145 pounds
on the night of November 14, 2009 in Las Vegas.
Let's go back to the MGM Grand to see how I called it
with Larry Merchant and Emanuel Steward.
Freddie Roach is quite outspoken in saying,
De La Hoya and Hatton.
and it will be over fast."
"You've got to be kidding."
Good jab by Cotto!
I just cannot see that.
He snapped Pacquiao's head back with the jab,
What happens to Pacquiao when he gets hit
with a punch?
by Cotto.
is critical.
a knack for throwing at the right moment.
with his right over the top.
One of the things that Pacquiao's always had
and he would catch them
straight left going back of guys who were coming in slow
with the right hook.
a guy who's down in a crouch position,
and a guy who is, I think, just as fast as him,
a very strong guy.
Well, indeed, that's an interesting comment,
to Miguel Cotto,
Pacquiao has a big edge in speed?"
I train for speed.
I'm just as fast."
And you can see the power of his jab with the way
back when he jabs.
At some point, we expect to see Cotto
into a southpaw stance
land a right jab
that way, too.
a straight left.
But Cotto caught it with his right-hand glove.
and the thing about Pacquiao,
and still knock you out
from just strange angles.
Yeah, but already you can see Pacquiao shows Cotto
he showed to De La Hoya and Hatton.
Well, he's also he's experiencing better speed
in recent fights
feeling Cotto's strength.
Previous--
of Pacquiao
put on the defense by Pacquiao's speed,
returned his fire.
Stop, stop. Let him up.
What we're seeing here is
and initiating fire
mindful of him,
have had to be mindful of Pacquiao.
Another central issue here is facing.
that Cotto wants to fight
or far away
in that middle range
might catch him.
Well, right now, Cotto has been fighting him at a distance
without even moving him to the ropes.
he gets into the ropes,
of an advantage to Cotto.
right now with the jab.
Body shot by Cotto-- excuse me, by Pacquiao.
Cotto ducking and slipping,
a body shot in on Pacquiao.
- Lampley: Cotto is just as fast
at least in the first round.
Little more...
in and out motion. - Okay.
on your toes. - Okay.
( speaking Spanish )
Very nice round. Very nice round.
Very nice.
with that left hand.
That's the only thing he has.
Push him back, push him back, push him back.
You keep pushing him back, the fight is gonna be much easier for you.
Don't be desperate.
Lampley: CompuBox numbers in round one: Both guys landed 12 punches.
Cotto threw a few more. Cotto was 8 out of 37 jabs.
- Pacquiao was 6 out of 27 jabs. - ( bell dings )
seemed to be solider.
his jab is right in between the gloves of Pacquiao,
to shoot his jab on the outside.
the impact of the strength of Cotto's jab
and that's the difference.
And it could mean that Pacquiao
coming in.
Cotto's a good counter-puncher,
to counter Pacquiao there a moment ago.
Freddie Roach, have said,
he can counter Manny.
we'll kill it."
Cotto's doing all right.
You don't forget Cotto has been in with speed fighters.
with Moseley,
to deal with their speed.
hasn't had to fight a fighter
having to experience now.
really a fast fighter.
the down side by the time Pacquiao got him.
by Cotto.
three punches,
right hand in return.
Good left by Pacquiao.
doing better leading with his left
- Steward: He's landing with his left very good,
on a full welterweight now.
Good jab by Cotto!
with hard jabs
the first two rounds.
Pacquiao.
advantage for Pacquiao. He starts to open up.
a place to counter.
Pacquiao landing a right.
by Pacquiao's elbows.
going there anyway.
by Miguel Cotto!
for that one.
with the right hand.
"Keep it up."
Filipinos booing.
his back against the ropes.
want to see it.
by Pacquiao, two blocked.
Cotto's body shots.
Pacquiao's body shots.
Pacquiao's got to start throwing some shots
on Cotto, too.
good shots, but Cotto's physically a bigger guy.
Now Pacquiao's starting to show off
and land some shots.
Gets in a right hook.
He has the benefit of punching while twisting and pivoting.
This is real crucial what's happening here
of the fight.
go defensive,
like he is right now?
He's gonna punch, so far,
can take his stuff.
with a hard left hand.
And another.
take the punch.
knocked back.
Good body shot by Cotto. Traps Pacquiao in the corner.
- ( bell dings ) - What a round!
Merchant: This is what we came for.
Lampley: Miguel Cotto's family,
apprehensive at ringside.
Wife and son. Blank stares.
( speaking Spanish )
Come on, you're doing his fight.
Use your jab.
solid jab, stiff jab, and you push him back.
see our hands, all right?
Do you hear?
your punches.
- Every time you throw, you're pulling back. - ( whistle blows )
Push in!
Lampley: Power shots in round two. Pacquiao had a big round.
- 33 out of 57, 21 in the last minute. - ( bell dings )
He made some impact, too.
Spontaneous combustion in that last round.
How will they respond,
to what they saw and did?
Joe Santiago asked Cotto to come back and throw more jabs.
with a series of jabs.
so freely and fluid with his combinations.
where Cotto
a combination puncher as much as Manny is
all kind of weird angles,
when you come in slugging with him.
Plus the footwork gets him into position to land.
He bounces off his shots very good.
Cotto bounces a left hand off Pacquiao's face
as Manny was rushing in.
right hook in there.
by knocking Cotto down!
The right hook stunned Cotto.
with a right jab. - Six! Seven!
with his right hand
with his left.
He's trying to use his right
over the left of Cotto.
Cotto was hurt,
if Pacquiao
on him now.
Let's see if Cotto can make it a 9-9 round.
to the punch now.
- Watch your hands!
Now Cotto back in the conventional stance.
a body shot.
to the body.
over the top by Pacquiao.
that right hook now.
Three body shots.
I'm glad we're doing this fight on TV.
if we had been talking on the radio,
we would be just...
trying to talk.
Almost impossible.
They trade body shots. Pacquiao gets Cotto
under the chin.
And they butted heads.
No blood.
by Cotto.
And the jab lands again.
Cotto lands his jab--
Cotto lands his jab.
Cotto goes into a little shell
the speed he's seen.
to go in and out and punch on his toes.
Left-hook counter by Cotto landed!
Knocks Pacquiao back!
We've seen Cotto in these situations before,
and he comes back.
we've seen
in recent fights.
Uppercut snaps Pacquiao's head back!
down in the round
to make it a 9-9 round.
Stop, stop, stop. Let him up.
( crowd booing )
Lampley: There's a blood mouse
- under the right eye of Miguel Cotto. - ( bell dings )
He lands the last left hook of the round.
How it was scored could be critical.
Listen to me.
( speaking Filipino )
In and out!
He's fighting his fight. Stop fighting his fight and leaning on the ropes.
Okay.
Lampley: Here's the right hook that started it.
Steward: There's the right hand that came right after a left hand,
and Cotto didn't see it.
Manny's very good, with great reflexes and timing.
Wait and see these little openings that very few fighters can see.
That's why he wins a lot of his fights
on close decisions-- by knocking guys down.
Lampley: And then Cotto was in a position
with 1:50 left to go in the round, where he was trying to win
the rest of the round and make it 9-9.
with which he punctuated the round.
Pacquiao landed 23, Cotto landed 21.
how do you have it coming to the fourth?
Okay, Jim. 29-27,
Manny Pacquiao.
Manny Pacquiao--
might be the fastest one in any division he fights in.
absolutely tremendous.
did enough to win round one
left jab.
an extra point in round three for the knockdown.
Pacquiao.
Cotto popping Pacquiao against the ropes.
has belonged to Miguel Cotto.
beginning to open up his offense.
with the right hand.
Pacquiao seems to be taking Cotto's shots well.
they accumulate
of the fight
to be a short one.
Step back, fellows.
Not so far, although anything can happen at any moment.
I very seldom saw a fighter
the way Pacquiao can fight,
punching from all angles,
and everything from a rhythm.
he's got speed,
but punching power.
either hand.
But since the knockdown, it seems Cotto has tightened
his defense a bit.
since the knockdown took place.
He really didn't make a mistake when he got knocked down.
perfectly timed punches
known for.
Flurry of punches for Pacquiao.
with a right hand.
lands for Manny. - Steward: Unbelievable.
Does he have Cotto in trouble? No. Cotto's firing back.
against the ropes!
this is a very bad idea!
He's got the big advantage
against the ropes.
Cotto has beaten down bigger fighters...
I think he's taking a breather, but I don't think he's hurt.
there and he's resting up.
he's catching every punch that Cotto throws.
he's taking a breather, Emanuel,
more punches than we've seen him take.
Well, he's got a guy--
Cotto can beat him-- physically handle him,
is to be a bully.
but they're not known for being physical.
He may have gone to the ropes to let Cotto throw,
with something big.
is against the ropes!
and goes down again!
shot,
him with a right hook again.
And Cotto was hurt by that knockdown,
by the first one.
left in the round.
And it ruins a round that Cotto was on his way to winning.
But that's why I say Manny's so dangerous.
- He's got unbelievable reflexes-- - ( bell dings )
Lampley: Crowd is on fire
after four fabulous rounds!
( speaking Spanish )
Come on, breathe deeply through your nose!
his game plan!
- ( speaks Spanish )
You're more intelligent than he is.
We can do it.
We can recoup!
Let's do it!
You're fighting beautiful in the middle of the ring.
Don't sit on the ropes. Don't fight his fight.
Steward: Here we see Manny Pacquiao do what he does the best--
land punches from all kind of angles and positions
where no one else could even have a defense against it.
That's what he's known for. Very difficult to trade with him.
Lampley: And this time it was the left hand that caused the knockdown.
The right hook helped, but the left landed right on the jaw.
Steward: And even with Marquez-- and the fights with Marquez,
- particularly the second fight... - bell dings )
...he won the fights because of some of those similar knockdowns.
Lampley: Well, 10 fights ago,
Eric Morales beat Manny Pacquiao
with his left jab.
Freddie Roach made the determination that
to make Pacquiao into more of a two-handed fighter
and train his right hand.
it's been since then.
So far, this may be
performance,
given the opponent,
he's taken.
I agree. It's more impressive than what he accomplished
De La Hoya or Hatton.
in sensational shape,
at times,
live body than either of the other two guys.
Miguel Cotto is what I call a strong puncher.
a dynamic puncher,
the way Pacquiao is.
Look at Pacquiao. Isn't he a beautiful machine?
so fluid and loose
with his rhythm in and out, in and out, in and out,
from all angles.
He is accumulating punishment against Pacquiao--
against Cotto.
if Cotto can continue
a long series of rounds.
since the first couple of rounds.
the same speed now.
Watch your heads!
He pushes Pacquiao to the ropes.
the guard.
And Cotto backs off.
Pacquiao's two hands have been better than Cotto's one.
the major weapon of Cotto.
have the striking power,
from all angles
with power,
with both fists.
work out, work out.
Watch your heads!
Bring 'em up!
Uppercut snaps Pacquiao's head up again.
by a left hook there
the ropes.
Well, Cotto has won
the last two rounds,
but in the last round,
loss by him
the late knockdown.
the round, I believe.
Stop!
But Cotto don't seem to have fully recuperated
knockdown, to me.
he still seems to be
- a little bit on shaky legs. - ( bell rings )
at the end for Pacquiao. There's his father,
who left his family
when Manny was a boy,
and they have been separated for decades,
and this is the first time that Rosalio Pacquiao
has ever seen his son fight live.
motion going,
let him lead us.
to us, all right?
the in and out motion. - Okay.
( speaking Filipino )
come to you.
( speaking Spanish )
Translator: We can do it, we can do it. We can turn it around.
- Roach: Don't let him come to you. - Translator: Let's do it!
Come on, baby, we're here. We're here with you. We're with you.
We're okay. You can get it done. Let's work it.
Let's work it. Move. Move to your left.
Lampley: There are a lot of voices in Miguel Cotto's corner,
and frankly, I heard nothing in Jerry Olaya's interpretation
to tell me he's getting any tactical advice at all.
And there's a little desperation there.
for desperation.
that Cotto is hurt,
to summon his will for him.
his father there for a moment
he will stay in there.
Harold Lederman guessed that Cotto won the last round,
to three points.
Cotto doesn't seem to be alert.
seems to be fresher,
with his punches.
Hard left hand for Pacquiao.
dealing with Pacquiao's speed,
Pacquiao faces.
in there for Cotto.
Pacquiao is unbelievable. He's a little machine.
and even the two knockdowns were some real weird punches.
It wasn't an uppercut, it wasn't a hook.
a right jab from an angle--
Weird punches from weird angles.
to throw at the right time.
I think he senses that Cotto is weakening,
if he can finish him right here,
to go in the round.
Cotto's been down twice in the fight,
he could not see.
too fast.
They wasn't even standard punches.
Straight left hand lands for Pacquiao.
Cotto backs off again.
with a big left hook that would've done damage.
with punches against the ropes.
are likely to swell up
he's taking.
Step back clean, fellows.
Despite the speed disadvantage,
shows his great skills.
Paws with the right hand.
the conventional stance. Lands a jab.
I wanted to see what would happen
of this size
came back at Pacquiao,
and we're seeing it.
and then some.
And Cotto is beginning to retreat constantly.
went down again
on a solid left-hand shot by Pacquiao!
- And Cotto tries to finish the round, and does! - ( bell dings )
Lands a thudding right hand right on Pacquiao's chin,
and Manny grins as he walks away.
( Merchant chuckles )
( yelling in Spanish )
Cotto's wife, Melissa.
from which to shout at her husband.
intelligent, be intelligent, just like we're doing it,
Don't stay on the ropes.
Just a little Vaseline.
Use your jab.
The jab, and move.
And repeat it!
Steward: Right here you see Manny Pacquiao
can land a right hand coming back again, which he used to didn't have.
He used to be strictly a straight left-hand puncher. Now he's put the right hand in.
- And now he comes right back with the left hand again. - ( whistle blows )
You can never read him and figure out what he's gonna do.
Lampley: And Cotto bent all the way over on his back leg on that
and almost went down, then came back
- and landed a hard shot to finish the round. - ( bell dings )
Pacquiao swamped him,
eight by Cotto.
halfway through the fight?
Okay, Jim, 58-54,
Manny Pacquiao.
is explosive.
is unbelievable,
the speed is unbelievable,
and uses that ring--
ring generalship.
where he wants him,
with both hands.
by Manny Pacquiao.
Pacquiao,
a four-point lead.
Hard right hook by Pacquiao. Left uppercut by Pacquiao.
at will now.
softened up for the kill.
in this round.
Don't push him.
Who at this table saw Henry Armstrong?
But Henry Armstrong didn't have this kind of punching power.
But this guy has great punching power
unbelievable rhythm.
move and punch
like a machine warmed up.
From all angles.
Is he better than Henry Armstrong?
Armstrong was a volume puncher,
puncher, Jim.
a perpetual motion machine.
I'm making the comparison, of course,
for going up in weight
it doesn't matter.
the featherweight championship,
the welterweight championship.
championship.
It ended with a draw, a controversial draw,
the middleweight title.
Against a Filipino fighter named Ceferino Garcia.
It doesn't look too good for Cotto at this stage.
Now it appears to be a matter of time.
at this point
Pacquiao's damage.
he's backing off.
If nothing else, it's how well
his best shots.
I think right now I'm looking at Cotto's mind.
you know?
in a different way to Margarito,
a real problem dealing with.
power of Pacquiao is just too much for him.
Every once in a while, he'll settle into a groove,
jabs in a row,
he's getting back into the fight.
his arsenal
right hooks or left hands,
sets in again.
He's never hurt Manny, and Manny's hurt him at least
times tonight. - Lampley: Correct.
And he's decided now to try
with Manny now. - Lampley: Yup.
He's not going to attack him except on occasions.
and win with his jab.
That's the template that beat Shane Moseley
in Madison Square Garden,
kind of fight.
- ( bell rings ) - Time!
Use your movement.
in and out, okay?
Keep moving, keep moving. Side to side. Come on.
Box. Circle him.
Miguel, how are you?
Come on, keep your hands up. Keep your hands up. Keep using.
Lampley: A doctor into Cotto's corner--
or a member of the commission, I should say-- went to Cotto's corner
and asked him if he was okay continuing,
and Cotto looked at him like, "Come on, I'm fine."
Pacquiao with a 64 to 14 edge in power shots
of the last two rounds. - ( bell dings )
he's just toying with Cotto in there now.
a good point about how
than Cotto's one hand.
pretty well sometimes with his left jab.
the powerful left hook
the sport's best weapons.
But even he landed it a few times,
and Pacquiao hardly flinched.
That's what's amazed me, too.
to hurt Pacquiao.
and Pacquiao will take them
and come right back.
And Pacquiao has hurt him,
of what I expected.
So we knew everything else about Pacquiao--
about his punching power, about his feet,
he can take the punch
welterweight.
every time, doesn't it?
The Manny Pacquiao story.
Well, the interesting thing here is,
many of the experts
of inside-boxing people
sort of a toss-up
a little bit favored,
but the betting public
a 3-1 favorite.
the betting public
than the insiders.
Well, what was that old song about, "A good big man
every time"?
it's a good big man
great little man.
He's a machine. I mean, very seldom do you see
the way he punches.
such rhythm and everything,
you can't really figure out what he's gonna do
with punches that are not even standard punches.
And when Cotto lands something, Pacquiao grins.
right eye
left-hand shot.
with the glove.
And he seems to be in full tactical retreat.
Absolutely. Just as he was
against Margarito.
Well, we talked about the difference
loaded gloves
gloves of Pacquiao.
Interesting. the decision to just box
better results
that Cotto was engaged in,
backing him up again.
against the ropes.
big left hand but missed.
And he's fighting Cotto as if Cotto doesn't have
he's just walking right through him now.
- ( bell dings ) - Time!
He cannot fight going backwards.
All right? Cut the ring--
Nice round.
the feint first.
( speaking Filipino )
Steward: Right here we see Manny Pacquiao shooting his patented punch
which he was known for-- straight left hand
right down the pike through the center.
Earlier those punches were not landing as effective,
but now that Cotto's tired, slowed down,
he's hitting him when he wants to.
If I was in Cotto's corner, I would be seriously, seriously,
seriously thinking about stopping the fight.
Lampley: Do you think that Joe Santiago has the nerve, the authority,
to do it?
I don't know, but the doctor or the commission...
No, Cotto runs his own show.
He's still fighting.
but that doesn't mean he's gonna give up.
with all the stuff after the Margarito fight
on his punches.
you remember,
not for that fight, he might have resigned
against Clottey
after four rounds,
go to the end.
that way tonight.
our interpreter Jerry Olaya assures us
in Cotto's corner
of the idea of stopping.
But Clottey's one thing.
that many punches.
He's with a different guy in there.
he's in there with tonight is totally different.
Clottey gave him a pass in the 11th and 12th rounds.
Yep.
had been more aggressive in the 11th and 12th rounds,
wouldn't be taking place.
a big left-hand shot.
Pacquiao's cheek.
under Cotto's chin
with the left uppercut.
He's in big trouble now.
in a matter of seconds.
Miguel is holding on.
He can't hold this down.
the punches coming.
Trying to counter with something,
comically slow
Pacquiao's throwing at this point.
This is a human typhoon.
Stop! Stop! Stop!
Kenny Bayless is within his rights in stopping this.
a ton of punishment.
and a high-quality individual.
Steward: And he cannot get away from the shots.
He deserves to be protected.
Well, Freddie Roach's other prediction was nine rounds.
Freddie's been pretty good at this, huh?
Manny walked right through it.
Walked right through it.
Let him up, let him up.
Speed kills.
Maybe Melissa Cotto will throw in the towel.
all the time and you're on the defensive,
and throw a power shot.
Yeah, and Cotto's not a power puncher.
while he was on the defense, it'd be different.
when he's hunching forward and punching going forward.
- ( bell dings ) - Lampley: But it's hard to do that against a guy
who's constantly storming you.
Translator: Is it enough? Is it enough?
One more. One more. I'm gonna give you one more.
Just one more.
One more to react.
throw it to the side.
a little better, okay?
- ( speaking Filipino )
He's gonna try to swing. Don't swing. Place your shots.
and go.
see the opening...
- and go. Back him up. - ( whistle blows )
You got to show me something. You're taking too much.
You got to show me something, okay?
- If not, I'm gonna have to stop it. - ( whistle blows )
Merchant: If they're thinking one more,
than this is the time
you should do it one before.
Lampley: And this is how Melissa and Miguel Jr.
reacted to that exchange
in the corner.
And at the end of the round, these two people
left the arena.
( bell rings )
Melissa simply did not want
his father take any more punishment.
This is almost like
a firing squad
against a traitor.
are academic at this point. Give them to us.
88-81, seven rounds to two, Manny Pacquiao.
with you guys 100%--
the fight.
I don't. I think that Cotto deserves
on his terms.
Well, his terms are gonna be painful,
a right hand.
at this point
his feet long enough
really damaging.
at this point in the fight,
why should it happen now?
It's almost as if Cotto's real goal now
is to hear the bell
at the 12th round.
say he's conceded,
he's behind, and he's not trying to catch up.
You heard Joe Santiago say, "One more round,"
looks like the first half of the round has looked,
one more round after that.
a lopsided round yet.
Pacquiao seems like he's took a breather,
total control over the fight,
for the first minute or so.
to step it up now.
I think he's done that several times.
30-second breaks at the beginning
and then stepped it up.
confidence in himself,
for Cotto's punching power.
So he's gonna do what he wants when he wants
when he wants.
Do either of you recognize the names
Rustico Torrecampo
Lukjaopormahesak?
Who are they, Jim?
They both have knockout victories over Manny Pacquiao.
he hit the big time.
Freddie Roach wasn't there yet.
That's right. Freddie would never have allowed him
Lukjaopormahesak.
I asked Freddie the other day,
if he was training Cotto,
result of the fight be?
Pacquiao would still win.
Well, if you're gonna bet on one commodity,
bet on speed.
rises to the top.
- ( bell dings ) - Time!
Translator: Let's go, let's go.
Straighten up your legs.
Good round.
like that if we can, yeah?
Can we do one more?
Yeah.
Finish this guy.
( speaking Filipino )
- Bayless:: Okay, Freddy, let's go, man.
Lampley: As round 10 looms ahead.
( bell dings )
Round 11 looms ahead,
building in the background
is fans' expectations
Floyd Mayweather.
Well, the sudden
and power of Pacquiao
tonight is too much
for a good man
and a good fighter.
By all accounts, this fight is a huge Pay-Per-View seller,
the number of Pay-Per-Views
for Mayweather vs. Marquez,
a stunningly big number.
what kind of an economic storm
Pacquiao vs. Mayweather
it takes place.
A tough negotiation,
on the table
a way to divide it.
I think all the economic meltdowns in the world
couldn't prevent this one.
that's gonna be piled up
for Pacquiao and Mayweather.
to close the show?
close it right now?
Now he's gonna go all out to try to end the fight.
Cotto bleeding profusely from above the left eye.
his mouth and his nose.
He took a round and a half off to rest,
he's going to go in for the kill now.
Pacquiao is looking for KO 11 right here.
still showing you
his enormous courage.
by Pacquiao.
the space in the ring.
Cotto's using it all.
Slow retreat,
Margarito,
even against
at the end of the fight.
trying to figure out how much time.
for his own pride.
I actually believe that Manny really just sometimes
hit him anymore.
Well, there's great respect between them.
There was no trash-talking.
trash-talking because
made pretty clear
in the buildup to this fight.
On the other hand, Manny Pacquiao can factor in
he's won the fight,
does have to do it
to dramatize it with a knockout?
- ( bell dings ) - Lampley: And now the crowd is booing Cotto's retreat.
A difficult moment for such a proud warrior.
Merchant: Pacquiao stares at him dismissively for running.
Translator: There's one left? Yes.
Let's go. Let's go.
Let's keep it going.
Jab, jab, eh?
Use your jab. Keep your jab.
Come on, let him come to you.
Just let him come to you all night. It's okay.
You just keep on your plan. Keep on your plan.
We're here with you.

will Miguel Cotto ever be great again?

can Manny Pacquiao do?
to say you have to doubt he'll ever be great again.

Merchant: We thought Manny Pacquiao was great.
He's better than we thought.
Merchant: The 50th win of Pacquiao's now-legendary career.
Steward: I would have to call him an all-time great.
I mean, I am very impressed, not so much from just this performance,
but he's been since 2001
fighting the best fighters all the way from featherweight
all the way up now to welterweight,
and then performing at a top level in every fight.
I've never known a fighter to do that.
Lampley: Let's go to Michael Buffer for the particulars on TKO-12.
( bell rings )

generated more than a million Pay-Per-View buys
million for the Filipino star.
which is expected to dwarf those numbers
Pay-Per-View the night of May 2.
Don't miss it.
