In an earlier video I explained how God is not like man. When He speaks, His word does
the work. When man speaks he still has to get up and do the work. I want to elaborate
on that a little. An example if you will. When I tell my wife I'm gonna take out the
trash, part of why sometimes it doesn't get done right away or it gets done after the
trash pickup date has passed, is because after I say Im going to do it, I still have to get
up and go and do it. With God however, because His word in itself has power to do that which
He says it will do, God doesnt have to say I'll take out the trash. Once He says the
trash, be taken out, you look up and the trash is gone. He doesnt have to get up, He doesnt
need anybodys help. He just speaks and it comes to pass. With sanctification it is virtually
the same thing. 1 Thess 2:13 says, "For this cause we also thank God without ceasing, because,
when you received the word of God, which you heard of us, you did not receive it as the
word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which effectually works also in you
that believe"-- or in you that exercises faith. Gods word works in us without our help. When
He speaks deliverance and victory from sin in our life, all we need to do is stand still
and see the deliverance of the Lord. But when we accept the word as the word of men, thats
when we feel we have to do something in order to secure Gods help. This tendency to confuse
Gods word as the word of men is the reason God has to differentiate Himself by the verse
that says "God is not a man that He should lie". Understand, its not that God chooses
not to lie, God literally cannot lie. Once He says something, His word makes it come
to pass. So even if the sky is blue, if God says the sky is green, by the time you look
up, the sky will be green. Therefore we can trust the word of God. This is why we can
trust that He's coming back. Because He said so. When it comes to prophecy we can trust
that too. During the triumphal entry Jesus wasnt joking. If the Israelites had not cried,
"Hosanna to the Son of David," the stones would have immediately cried out because if God said it, it must come to pass.
And in the same way, when the third day had come, it was "impossible" that Christ would
stay in the grave, because if God prophesied it, it will come to pass. The word of God
is living and powerful. We can take it to the bank and cash it because it pays to trust
the Lord. God Bless.
