Welcome to the CTFishingCharters.org video series, answering your questions about fishing
Long Island Sound on a charter boat. Today, Captain Doug Parker of the Good Company II,
New London, CT, answers the question: What are the best times to fish?
Well different people like different times. We have customers that love going and they’ll
call me and say, Captain Doug do you have any mornings available. I think they like
mornings for some very good reasons. One is that the fishing can be quite productive as
the light changes from morning dark into dawn. The other thing is that it is absolutely gorgeous
to see the sunrise in the morning. So that is a particularly popular time. And the other
time of course will be the opposite of that which would be just around sunset. So, both
those times are very popular but that doesn’t mean other times of the day can’t be productive.
And sometimes productivity depends upon things like the tide and the weather and those sorts
of things. So, again the best thing is to just call you Captain and ask for his or her
advice.
