How to create a mixed-media flower with inspiring words! This is your friend
Martha from Ayala Art, aka ILove2Paint.
Hello everyone! This is Martha, aka Ayala Art. I'm going to be working on
this page for a traveling journal. This book is from Lee McGrath and the theme
is let's be adventurous. She was asking for inspirational, or powerful
words... so my words for her page are going to be: "dream" and "grow." What I'm going
to be doing is putting little pieces of collage, and beautifully stained napkins,
and paint. I think I'm going to go with that turquoise and maybe a little bit of
NeoColor. I'm going to start speeding up the process and I'll talk to
you at the end of this.
Okay, now I'm going to let it dry and then I will come back with more details, and the words.
I left it to dry for a while and then I printed this to see if I
liked it better with a white outline, or a black outline, and I noticed
that this paper is too close to the to the gold color over here... at least in
print. So I'm going to cover it in the same turquoise, and then I'm going to
write "dream" and "grow," but kind of like in this way... and use green leaves and
that'll be pretty much what I'm going to be doing for this page. I'm going to
start speeding up the process but you know I'm going to go in kind of this direction.
this is a little bit still wet, and I put medium on top of the letters, and just to
finish off the page I'm going to get a little bit of brown acrylic and medium...
to make it kind of transparent. I'm going to protect the pages around it or behind it...
...and just leave a little bit of a frame around the edges.
I'm running out of the light, so I might show you with more detail
tomorrow... or I can turn on my lamps, but.. it doesn't look the same as natural lighting.
