KAMI: Hello.
I am Kami from Takalani Sesame.
BAN KI-MOON: And I'm Ban Ki-Moon, the Secretary-General
of the United Nations.
I'm here today to talk to you about Every Woman, Every Child
global health campaign.
KAMI: Oh, what is that?
BAN KI-MOON: It's part of the United Nations' mission to
help children all over the world to get and stay healthy.
But I will need your help.
KAMI: My help.
But, what can I do?
I don't think I know how to help.
BAN KI-MOON: Of course you do, Kami.
Can I ask you a question?
KAMI: Yes, yes.
BAN KI-MOON: What are some of the things you and your
friends do to stay healthy?
KAMI: Oh, well, we eat healthy foods, and we always try to
drink a lot of clean water.
BAN KI-MOON: And what else?
KAMI: We always wash our hands before eating.
And um, after using the bathroom.
BAN KI-MOON: Yes, that's right too, Kami.
Can you think anything else?
KAMI: Um, oh, yes, yes, exercise.
It's very important to get plenty of
fresh air and exercise.
BAN KI-MOON: See, Kami?
You know exactly how to stay healthy.
But sadly, this is now so easy for millions of children
around the world.
The Every Woman, Every Child movement is helping to save
millions of lives.
I want to invite you and everyone watching to join the
United Nations in promoting Every Woman, Every Child.
We need determination.
KAMI: Yes.
BAN KI-MOON: We need action.
KAMI: Yes.
BAN KI-MOON: And we need children like you
to spread the word.
KAMI: Yes, yes.
Well, let's get started.
What are we waiting for?
BAN KI-MOON: Kami and her Sesame Street friends from
around the world are ready to do their part.
I hope you join us to support this global campaign.
KAMI: Well, you can count on me, Mr. Secretary-General.
BAN KI-MOON: Let's help--
TOGETHER: Every woman and every child in
every way we can.
