You watched us design and build this house in 150 days, but the work is far from over.
We're about to jump into my favorite part of the process of bringing all this together.
Join me for an exclusive look right here on eHow Home. You know, I love sisal as a floor
covering, so much that not only did I use it for rugs in the main rooms, I also used
it as a runner and as one that would carry right up the staircase. You can see it here
-- doesn't it look good? We have the sisal field and then I have a band of canvas on
either side, and then what we did to finish it off was we took some little brass tacks
that are actually colored a nice bronze color. Love the patina on them -- they look kind
of old. These were applied about 5 inches apart on either side all the way up. And you
see, the one on the right corresponds to the one on the left. You see, it's symmetrical.
Symmetry, you've heard me talk about that. Well, here it is, another example of it. So
what the guys from Lumber 1 did is they installed the runner first all the way up and then they
came back and applied these tacks to give it that little finishing detail, which I think
is really marvelous. It fits with our farmhouse chick look. You know, I'd love to get comments
from you. Leave one here below. And make sure you subscribe to eHow Home.
