Good morning. Tim Lumsden here with yet another edition of, wait for it, Facebook Fridays,
where every Friday morning I come to you with what's on my mind in the world of Facebook
Ads, business, and making money using Facebook. Today I wanted to talk to you about something
which hasn't actually come up in conversation with anyone lately, but it is a theme that
comes across all the time whenever I speak to people either on the phone, at seminars,
online, wherever it is. This theme always tends to come up, and that is as a business
owner should you learn how to run this Facebook campaigns and master the advertising platform
yourself or should you pay someone else who is an expert at it to run the Ads for you?
This is a very very very common thing like I was saying and the answer once again comes
to well, it depends, and it comes down to three things. Those three things are, how
much time you have as you business owner, and how many resources you have in terms of
time, how much money you have to spend on advertising, and on outsourcing, and training.
Thirdly, what do you like as a person in learning things, learning things which are a little
bit technical and a little bit creative as well. These three factors, so, you've got
time, money, and your capability, right? Those three factors are going to determine which
path you should possibly choose, whether you want to learn how run Facebook Ads yourself
or whether you want to get someone else to do it for you.
Let's just talk about each one quickly. Firstly, it comes down to time. Now as a business owner
quite often you are not going to have a lot of time to learn a new skill. I'm not saying
that's true for everyone because sometimes you can make time of course. In fact, you
can always make time to do something but it's about whether you have the time to do this
as opposed to all the other conflicting priorities that you always have as a business owner.
If you have the time to learn how to master Facebook Ads, then why not go ahead and do
it yourself? Why not invest in yourself by enrolling in a training course or perhaps
having a coach help you get through it or perhaps even looking at stuff online for free?
Which I don't necessarily recommend by the way but you can do that if you've got the
time because as you know, especially if you have been watching these Facebook Fridays,
there are a lot of moving parts to make it all work but when you master, it you can definitely
do it yourself.
On the flip side, of course, if you are a business owner who does not have the time
to learn it, but you really can understand the benefit in using Facebook Ads, then why
not get someone else to do it for you. They can actually do all the work, all the heavy
lifting, I should say, for you and all you do is just sit back, give them what they need,
in terms of content, in terms of images, in terms of your offers, just all the basic stuff
you need to build a campaign on, and then get them to run it for you. Of course, that
will then save you a hell of a lot of time in your business and you will get an expert
who can do it a lot faster than what you could do anyway. All right, that's number one, that's
time.
The second one is money. Now, arguably it would cost you less to actually do a course,
get trained up in doing it yourself as opposed to paying someone to run it for you, to run
campaigns for you each month. If you are tight on money and you have the time, it might be
a good time to actually spend a little bit of money now to get that training, to up skill
yourself to be able to do it yourself as opposed to if you've got no time but you have money.
If that's the case you can perhaps leverage of the fact that you have that money and you
are able to actually pay someone else to run those successful campaigns for you.
The third one, of course, is your capability. Like I said before, there is a lot of moving
parts around making Facebook Ads work. Yes, it is pretty simple but it's simple in terms
of the overall process, underneath that process there is a whole lot more going on that to
really master this stuff, to really master running profitable Facebook campaigns, you
need to really get a hold of. If you are the sort of person who can get quite technical
or get into the nuts and bolts of things and can logically understand how it all fits together,
and you have the time, then by all means certainly invest in yourself and learn how to do it
yourself because you will not make a mistake by doing that because you truly do get to
learn all this stuff yourself and you'll be able to master yourself.
If you are that kind of person, so why not. It's a win, win.
On the flip side, of course, if you are not that sort person who is not good with making
things come together like that, the really technical side of things like how to build
Landing Pages and using Facebook Pixel Codes, all this kind of stuff which you learn if
you trained in it, that kind of stuff can easily be learned but if you are not the sort
of person who likes to get involved in that kind of thing, perhaps it's not for you. If
that's you as a business owner then perhaps it is time to get someone to outsource it
and get someone to run the campaigns for you. In my opinion there is nothing wrong with
either road, whether you learn to do it yourself or whether you get someone else to do it for
you because there is a real knack to making Facebook Ads work.
Whether you do it yourself or whether you get someone else to do it for you, it's going
to be the business that wins in the end and that's what it's all about. Then if you are
watching this video right now because you'd like to learn more about how Facebook Ads
work and how to make them work for your business, I think it's a very important consideration
to realize whether it's going to be you who is the one that is doing it or whether it's
going to be someone else, an expert, who is going to be doing it for you.
All right, that's it for today, I hope you have enjoyed today's episode of Facebook Fridays.
I'll come back to you again next Friday with yet another video with what's on my mind.
