Hi Amanda. I'm Andrea from ITN. You look amazing, what a lovely tan. Now, what is it like being
reunited with the BGT gang? It must be amazing.
It is really amazing because we all genuinely have a really good friendship, and we all
bounce off each other, and I love Aleisha, and I love Simon, and David and Simon. You
know, the whole thing's happened again, and so the energy is really fast and snappy and
upbeat and teasey and everything. It's great.
How's the Simon-David bromance? Is it still going strong?
It's still going strong. I think Simon is outwitting David.
-Really? -Yeah, which is not something I thought would happen,
but David's still hilarious. But sometimes Simon has got some one liners that are just
like topped David, so David's not happy about that.
I've heard apparently David saved Simon's life when he choked on a mint. Is this true or not?
He choked on a mint, and I was helping him and then I suggested to David that perhaps
he'd like to come over and assist him, but of course he took advantage of that situation.
So it's actually you who saved his life.
I suggested that David come over because I kind of knew it might work better if David was...
Definitely. It's a man's job. What have been your highlights so far? I heard Simon tweet about a dancing
owl. Did that actually happen?
Oh yeah, we did...
This can't be true. An owl can't dance.
Slightly exaggerated. We did have an owl on the show. We've had a snake as well.
Uh... What was the question? Sorry.
You got distracted by the dancing owl. What's been the highlight for you?
Highlight. I think the person that I pressed the buzzer for... I was the first person to
press the golden buzzer, which is this new thing we have. Each judge gets one chance
to put an act of their choice to go straight to the live semi-finals, and I pressed mine
and it was the most amazing thing to do, and I actually believe this act could win the
whole thing.
Oh really? Wow.
And I said to Simon. If one of the judges that presses the golden button then goes on
to win the show, do we get like a free trip to Barbados or something?
-I think that should definitely be a deal. -I think so.
And obviously Simon's going to be a daddy soon. Have you been giving him lots of parenting advice?
Not advice. Just saying things like you can't make... He's got very strong plans about what
he's going to be doing and where he's going to be going, and I just keep saying that's
not going to work out because babies aren't as portable as you think initially at the
beginning and just be prepared for how much he's going to love the baby. That's the
most overwhelming thing. You never are prepared for the love that you feel, and that's the
thing I think is going to knock him for six.
Because David said actually Simon's really good with kids.
He is.
I think he's the least patronising of all of us. All of us start talking to children
like this when they come on the stage, and he's like right I'm going to talk to you like
you're an adult, and then he does. And you know, he asks really cool questions like:
Which one is the naughtiest out of all of you? And he's so cute with them. I've always
said he'd be a great dad, so I'm thrilled for him.
And finally, if you were going to step out on that stage today and audition, what would
be your talent, Amanda?
I did gymnastics for ten years, so I'd probably do a few backflips.
Really? We have to see that on the show.
I'm still quite bendy.
Have a great day. Lovely to see you.
