Good afternoon Sabina! How are you today? Good afternoon Bill.
I am all right now! Nearly had a panic attack this morning.
Oh no! Not again?
What happened? Robert phoned my boss and wanted status report
on sales targets he had sent three months ago.
He was so annoyed. To keep inbox tidy, I always sort emails into
different folders as Outlook recommends. But it took me nearly an hour to find the
e-mail. It was in Merlin folder.
You are well organized Sabina! Merlin is the marketing campaign we started
after Brussels meeting; isn't it?. Yeah!
But I had to search different folders; Sales Target, Brussels and then Merlin.
Took ages. Searching is so slow, on our email server.
I wish I could just Google the whole thing. Well, I use Gmail for my personal use.
It uses labels instead of folders. It is so quick and easy to search.
Labels instead of folders? How would that help?
Well, email can have multiple labels. That is the most natural thing to do.
Labeling means they are not separated from one another.
For example; "Merlin", "Brussels" and "Sales Target" would all be labels to the email you
were looking for this morning. And with Gmail you would be using Google's
search engine giving very quick results. That makes lot of sense.
Google has the legendary search engine. Obviously they know how search works!
I can use Gmail even on my smartphone. I wish our company email is as easy as that.
We are struggling with a solution meant for large corporations in our small company.
We can't upgrade our systems as frequently as big companies.
So our email server, is always overloaded. It takes absolute ages to do anything.
I know. Bill, do you think we need to upgrade our
servers all over again? I wish we could use Gmail for our company
email. Well! Actually we can!
We can use Gmail; with our own, branding. And save money on server upgrades as well.
Wow! That, sounds magical! How can we achieve that?
One of my mates says his company has moved to Google Apps for Business.
He is very happy these days. Interesting!
He says he can even do video conferencing using company's ID from his phone.
And they no longer need to be sitting in front of a computer to work.
That sounds great! Do you remember the hassle we had with Yahoo,
M S Messenger and Skype? That was, painful.
But won't we need lots of training to use this new system?
Not at all. Just a couple of hours is enough. In fact, CS Training with over 25 years of
training experience have joined hands with Wake Technology who have over 40 years in
software development. Wow!
They provide hands on training in chunks of two hours.
That sounds fantastic. I'll talk to the boss and sign us all up.
Brilliant! See you later Sabina!
See you later Bill! Bye!
