YUU ASAKURA: This is the list of words. Let's review this. We learn this when we were learning
how to ask questions. That's Who, "Dare," Why, "Naze," What, "Nani," When, "Itsu," Where,
"Doko," and How, "Dou". So, in the previous lesson we learned how to ask questions, one,
yes or no, and the second one is using these. Let's practice with this. Okay, so the core
sentence here is, "He is a student," okay? So, let's make it a yes or no question. First
of all, the original sentence is "Kare wa gakusei desu." How do you make it yes or no
question? Yes. "Kare wa gakusei desu ka?" You put "Ka" at the end, right? So, let's
ask, "What does he do? What is he?" So you put "Gakusei," student part with the two of
it--let's use this one. So, the sentence will be, "Kare wa nani desu ka?" Very good. You
can use "Itsu, doko, dou" in the same manner. You have the core sentence. You make it yes
or no question and you substitute the words that you want to ask with these.
