Is it normal to have a lot of diarrhea while pregnant?
No, not really. While you are drinking a lot, stools get looser, but constipation is far
more common.
I’ve heard that it can be normal.
When you are pregnant, you’re at greater risk of contracting an illness like a stomach
bug. And you may develop diarrhea right before going into labor.
That makes absolutely no sense.
The muscles in your abdomen are contracting to dilate the *** to ten centimeters so
the baby can come out. With all those regular muscle contractions, poop usually gets pushed
out, too.
I don’t think I’m in labor, and I’m pretty sure I don’t have food poisoning.
I’ve switched to an ultra-healthy diet.
Frankly, it could be all the fiber you are eating. Your body isn’t used to it, so it
just seems like diarrhea.
Should I stock up on electrolytes like Gatorade?
You should drink a lot. You have to be careful of sports drinks, because some people react
to its ingredients by having digestive problems.
I shouldn’t be sick like this because I’m taking everything they are asking me to take.
Iron pills can upset the stomach. Maybe you need iron supplements with the same coating
they put on Tylenol for those with a sensitive stomach.
Or slow absorption vitamins. Can conception itself give you an upset stomach or diarrhea?
Only if you are literally sick to your stomach at the prospect of being pregnant.
No, we wanted a baby.
You could still worry yourself sick over the baby. Some women throw up when they are nervous.
No, I just threw up because the stop and go commute turned my morning sickness into literally
sickness by the side of the road. And that never turned into diarrhea in the first month.
If in doubt, talk to the doctor.
