In this video we’re going to show how to clean the DuraLabel Toro.
First, ensure that your Toro printer is turned off.
We will be cleaning the print head, the cutter and the platen roller.
Let’s start with the print head.
Lift the printer cover all the way up until it seats.
Lower the cutting station by pulling it outward and down.
Push in the two grey locking levers on the print carriage and raise it upward to reveal
the print head. Remove any supply or ribbon that is installed.
Now prepare a DuraLabel cleaning swab by squeezing it until it snaps. The alcohol will saturate
the cotton end of the swab.
Run the swab back and forth several times across the front and underside of the print
head. You want to remove all built-up adhesive, residue and dust particles.
Now let’s clean the cutting station.
You will need a Philips screwdriver and the compact screwdriver provided by DuraLabel.
Unscrew the two sidescrews; one on each side of the cutting station and remove the plastic
shield. While removing the shield, be careful not to snag it on the black wire on the right
of the cutting station.
Lower the cutting station further and use the compact DuraLabel screwdriver to turn
the white plastic screw in the cutout located at the bottom of the station. Turn counter-clockwise
until you see the cutter blades close.
Prepare another DuraLabel cleaning swab by squeezing it until it snaps.
Swipe the cutter slot and the blades through both sides of the station.
Now place the plastic shield back into its original position, again being careful not
to interfere with the black wire on the right side of the cutting station.
Lower the cutting station into place and re-attach the cutter shield using the side screws and
your Philips screwdriver. The cutter blades will automatically reset when you power up
your Toro after cleaning.
Next we’ll clean the platen roller.
Prepare another DuraLabel swab and wipe it across the platen roller. Once dry, turn the
platen roller one or two more times to clean all sides.
Now you’re ready to reload your supply, your ribbon, and begin printing.
To clean your Toro screen, any over-the-counter computer screen cleaner can be used.
When wiping dust or dirt off your Toro, be sure and use a non-abrasive material.
