Hi everybody! Today i want to show you the Heinkel He 219 A-7 "Uhu" from Revell in 1/32 scale.
This kit was released only few weeks ago and i heard a lot of good things about the kit.
Some people even call it "Model of the year". I´m curious to see how good this kit is.
As you can see the dimensions are impressive. 52cm long and 57cm wingspan. It is a monster.
The box is not small either. Let´s have a look inside the box.
Everything is packed very well, here a bag with the fuselage and tail unit.
One bag, another bag, clear parts, a very big bag and a thick instruction sheet.
The instructions are typical Revell, here a picture of assembled model,
then some background history of the real aircraft and technical data.
There we have the usual notes of safety, a legend of symbols and a paint chart (which only refers to Revell paints).
Here we have a little diagram with all included plastic sprues. As you can see there are many of them, some are included twice.
There we have the first step, it deals with the painting of the cockpit and the decaling for the instruments.
Then we have to glue some parts.
As you can see the cockpit will be nicely detailed, of course there is always room for improvements if you use photo-etched parts.
Clearly arranged, nothing to complain about.
Here you have to add some weights if you add the landing gear on the plane.
This is always a problem with front wheels on aircrafts, the plane tends to sit on its tail.
Here you have some variants for the flaps, you can position them individually.
Very nice, i can´t wait to start with this kit.
Engines, everything is there.
You can build a version with the "Naxos" radio direction finder here.
It is always good to have a selection of variants in one kit.
You have to keep your eyes open to build a correct model, depending on which version you want to build.
Don´t mix it up.
Some "Schräge Musik" here, nice.
Here we have the painting and decaling instruction. There are four versions,
one in Denmark, one on Sylt, another one on Sylt and the last one was stationed in Münster-Handorf.
All have typical night-figther camouflage, i don´t know which one i will pick, most likely one of the first two.
The decal sheet is pretty big as you can see, everything is typical Revell.
The print of the decals is excellent, i´m sure the decals are superb.
Here the two halfes of the fuselage, these pieces are very big.
There are no interior details, but it does not matter because the cockpit has separate detailed side walls,
and back here you can´t see it anyway.
The rivet details are beautiful and the panel lines are nicely replicated. The plastic has some nice surface structure.
Very nice, i like it a lot.
Here some parts of the cockpit. Very nice, no flash in sight.
Radio unit, cool.
Here some parts of the tail unit.
All parts are casted very well. I think it should be easy to build.
These parts are very filigree.
Both sprues here are included two times.
The propeller is pretty big, the running gear details are beautiful.
There is nothing to complain about, Revell made an excellent kit.
This sprue is included two times aswell, it mainly contains the wings and engine cowls.
The panel lines are nice in particular, if you accentuate them with a decent wash it should add a lot of realism to the model.
This kit is a gem. I can´t wait to get it started.
Here the antennas and the attachments, very filigree. They are safely fixed to the sprue, but it should be easy to cut them without damages.
A well-thought-out kit.
Here the two spures with the clear parts. As you can see there are some different variants for the canopy.
I don´t know the differences, but i´m sure i will find it out soon enough.
This part belongs into the cockpit, i don´t know why it is transparent.
The clear parts are free of streaks and the canopy bars are easy to spot.
This really helps when it comes to painting the canopy.
I will mask it off anyway and use my airbrush, as i´m already too old for painting these parts free hand.
My first impression of this kit is very good, i think the kit will fulfill all expectations.
I´m looking forward to build this one, it is something big, well detailed, nicely manufactured and an uncommon aircraft in this scale.
What else do you want?
The kit costs about 50€ which is acceptable in my opinion.
I hope you enjoyed this kit review, maybe you fancy to build this one aswell.
Be warned my friends, it is definately to complicated for beginners and you have to know where to put the finished model later as its size is pretty unwieldy.
In the next kit review i will show you the Mercedes-Benz G4 from Revell in 1/35 scale.
Actually it is only a reboxed ICM kit.
I wish you all happy modelling and see you in the next video, your Hamilkar Barkas.
