The purpose of this demonstration is to show
how to create an assignment,
and how to set assignment options.
In Blackboard, you can use the Assignment tool to create a secure location for
students to submit work for a course assignment.
Enter the course in which you would like to create an assignment and check the Edit
Mode button in the upper right corner of your screen.
Ensure the Edit Mode button is on.
Assignments can be added to any content area.
You can decide what location best suits your course organization.
Click the particular menu link on the left side of the course in which would
like to add the assignment.
Once you have entered the content area in which would like to create your
assignment, click the Assessment button.
And then, click the Assignment link.
In the Assignment Information area,
enter a name for the item in the Name and Color field.
Enter the instructions
in the Instructions area.
You can attach files to accompany our assignment.
In the Assignment File section,
click the Browse My Computer button to locate a file on your computer.
Once you attach a file, the file displays in the Attached Files area.
If you want to attach another file, click the Browse My Computer button to locate and
add additional files.
If you added the wrong file, click the Do not attach link to remove it.
In the Grading section,
enter the number of points for the assignment.
In the Availability section,
you have a few options to consider.
The default options are the most commonly used.
Click the Make Assignment Available checkbox to ensure the assignment is visible
to students.
Select the number of attempts that are appropriate for this assignment.
If you would like for the assignment to display to students only during
specified times,
click the Display After and/or Display Until checkboxes. Use the calendar and
the clock buttons to specify the times.
Click the Track Number of Views checkbox to track the number of views for this
assignment.
In the Due Date section, click the due date checkbox to specify the date and time
the assignments is to be completed.
Use the calendar and clock buttons to specify the times.
The Due Date option is a label and does nothing more than let students know when
the assignment is due.
Assignments submitted after a due date will be marked late.
Assignments can be assigned to each student, or as a collaborative work to
students.
When using groups, it is possible to give the assignment
to select groups or all groups.
In the Recipient section,
click the All Students Individually,
or the Groups of Students radio button to select the recipients for the
assignment.
If the Groups of Students option is selected, only one person per group can submit the
assignment.
Click the Submit button in the top right or bottom right corner of the page.
Now, your assignment displays.
To edit or delete existing assignments, click the Action button located to the
right of the title to view the contextual menu.
To edit the assignment, click the Edit option.
To delete the assignment click the Delete option.
Note that deleting assignment is permanent and cannot be undone.
