This is Martin Shervington and I'd like to show you a quick
tip on how to find and add relevant circles on Google Plus
using CircleCount.com.
So let's go to Circlecount.com and you see the page right here. If you haven't
signed up to this already then it's something I would recommend. But for the
sake of this, let's go straight into ‘specials’
and ‘circles’.
And we'll just look at this one area first
so if I search in the box here for for instance, ‘Star Wars’,
and pressed the ‘search’ button
we will find circles there have been shared that are related to the subject
matter of ‘Star Wars’.
So straight away, I'm going to find people who have similar interests myself
as it happens, I've shared a circle of Star Wars.
But let's say ‘Michael Stuart’.
if I open
the circle here. I click on to ‘open circle’
I can see he has said that
he's looking for people that ‘have seen Star Wars’ for instance.
And I know he's got a good sense of humor and he put the circle out and got great responses here.
He had fifteen shares
and twenty five plus ones and a good amount of comments from a nice bunch of
people.
And if I decide that I want to ‘add’ that circle in,
I can then press add circle
and I can add it in as I normally would I could say that one is a ‘Star Wars’
circle
and I just press ‘create circle’.
Now let me show you had to log in and sign up. Now as I'm on my demo account
it's a fresh account so I can press ‘login’ and it asks if I will give it permission, which I will
click ‘allow access’
using a little bit of video magic I jump to my actual circle account profile.
Now Circle Count is a phenomenal resource. And what it does is it allows you to
see activity
from your Google Plus account that wouldn't be able to gather just from being on
Google Plus.
So we can see we had a few numbers here which is the ranking in the UK
based just upon the number of followers.
This has got nothing to do with Engagement. Followers and engagement
are not the same thing. So don't worry too much about the number of people you
have following you if what you're after is engagement.
So anyway let's now scroll down and we can see my follower history how many
people have been circles. And we can see that steady line there. And we can see here
how many on any particular day. You see here at two hundred forty added me
on a particular day. And we can start to look at what was going on -
what am I doing
that is making people add me in?
One of the things
is that people put me in circles of course.
Now you can see here that I was included In a number of circles. And here's the
person's name that put me in the circle. Sometimes it could be a page as well
and if I want to click on the circle. I can click in the date picked here
and that will bring up
Lee’s profile on Circle Count And I can then click on ‘open circle’
and that will take me to Google plus
and it will show me the circle that I was included in.
Now I want to first of all just double check I was included in it
If I go click view shared circle to do that
we'll see here if I put my name into the search box that I come up. So I think
that's lovely thank you Lee. I want to say thank you. So I scroll down and see he's had a lot of engagement
On the thread and I can then make a comments and say thank you to Lee.
So this is a very good way of using Circle Count to find out which circles
you've been put in
and then to go and say thank you. And that will really help you to build
the relationships.
I'm Martin Shervington. I hope that was a useful quick tip.
