People are more likely to have an accident at home,
then at work or in a car.
That is just one of the messages that ACC will be pushing
during ACC Safety NZ Week.
A ladder is a useful tool,
but if someone falls from one, the concerns rise.
The figures continue to rise, both deaths and accidents.
ACC is raising awareness around accidence in the home,
to help avoid major tragedies.
But no matter how big the investment,
or how many advertisements there are,
it is still slipping people's minds and no one is taking notice.
It is good to talk the talk, but people need to walk the walk.
More then 600 people died in accidents last year,
60 of them were Maori
and the figures for Maori continue to rise.
Last year, the figures increased by 25%, to 75.
Most of us are not being careful in our own homes.
But Graham Warren feels that the finger
should not be pointed at the Government.
It is all in our own hands.
We need to think about what we need to do to take care of our families.
ACC Safety NZ Week will run until Sunday.
